Not anything I had ever dreamed about...but I have to admit, it could be an amazing EDC.

Looks like it could be super cozy in the hand like a 94x but with more meat on the bone. I'm sure it'll be a huge hit.

Which means we will soon see pics of a lucky member of this forums Anthem and their thoughts.

/|\ Nate, I've both 940 & 943 with Ti handles. The heavier Ti makes the 94Xs feel like a whole different knife. I never carried them as I liked the feel in the hand of the CF handles.

So for me I want to hold this 781 before buying

I can definitely appreciate that Bill. I would also love to handle this one before shelling out big bucks. I already took a leap of faith on the 87.

    Rightfully so.
    Although, no faith needed IMO.
    Winner.

I called my dealer that I pre-ordered my Anthem 781 from to see if ANY 781's had arrived yet. He said, no and told me that I'm number two on his list.
    Sure hope he gets two.

    In the mean time.

Be sure to let us know you're take on it too, Keyman. I know you were as excited as I was for this one. Hoping to hear your thoughts as well.

I'm anxious to know if disassembly for cleaning purposes is as straight forward as it seems...

    Mine is in.
    Arrives Monday or Tuesday.

After looking at Keyman's I want one even more.

So they're coming - call your dealers if you haven't pre-ordered

I thought the same thing myself. This one might put him out of business.

Who's gonna be the first guy to have their 781 entirely DLC coated? I'll buy him a beer...

Keyman how is the clip for blending into the scales? It looks a bit darker

I told myself to minimize the knife budget this year.
The actual pics pushed me over the edge. Looks better than I thought.

Yeah, the clip is slightly darker, but still semi-iridescent like the handle.
    Sometimes the difference is indistinguishable.
The photo below has not been altered in anyway.

/|\ Jason, maybe BKC should have named this knife
"Chameleon". Every pic the handle looks different. The above looks bronze, others look Ti gray, tan or gold.
I hope the blue 781-1 will have same visual properties. Please remind me again when those start to ship.

Does the 781 have a steel stop pin, and if not, could the handle potentially deform after a while, from the force of the blade hitting the softer titanium?

Also, does it have steel washers set inside the titanium to prevent the ball bearings from wearing tracks into the titanium?

    First post =)

Can anyone confirm if the blue 781-1 is a real thing?!

    I searched and I searched!

The best proof I could find was BMK Jason saying there are no firm dates on the 781-1 yet, which neither proves nor disproves its existence!

    Dare I ask... pics? =)

It's an imaginary thing... courtesy of Bill Hammer. He claims he's waiting for that one.
Much like I'm waiting for the 781DLC-1... that's not a real thing either... YET!

    Mac, not enterly true.

Look at history of 940. I am calling it a 781-1.
It may come through as a LE & it maybe a couple years out. But how hard to anodize blue rather than gold / tan. In blue I'll be buying 3 to 6 in gold zero with outside chance of one.

Then maybe LB will do a group anodization before the 781-1 is released

Oh yeah... they'll put out another 781 variant, I bet.

I'm in for the next group DLC project...
