    Yeah I decided to get the woody black widow. I like it, worth the price though . . . hell no, I have some regret buying them.

    I must say that I don't really know why Benchmades liner-locks and frame-locks are usually...if not always...set up for tip down carry. Axis locks are a different animal and pretty much have to be tip-up carry or else the clip limits access to the Axis buttons. I know some Axis knives are drilled to accept a clip in other positions, but having tried it it didn't work for me.

    I actually don't have any problem with liner & frame locks being tip-down carry. Their blades seem to launch plenty fast.


    The axis lock holds the blade in with some slight tension.
    the liner/frame locks will fall open.... if clip was mounted for tip up carry.

    I have several tip up frame locks, it never has been an issue.

    My LFTY would most likely fall open if tip up carried (though no mounting holes exist to do so. ...Where there to be holes drilled to do so tho... I believe it would.).
    unless i tighten the pivot joint down to inhibit it from doing so.

    I know what you mean, Blue...I got stabbed once reaching in for a knife. It was a tip up carry liner lock. It wasn't a Benchmade though.

    After slicing the **** out of my thumb stuffing my wallet in the same pocket my 550HG was clipped to, I want EVERYTHING to be tip down now. I don't understand why everyone is so against tip down anyway, it doesn't take me any longer to grip it differently pulling it out. Or is it because you people don't like having the clip in your hand while using it?

    Detent goes a long way.

    I have a lot of Ti framelocks, all tip up, no issues at all.

    However my 740 I could see it potentially coming open if it was tip up

    I got a cut on my trigger finger with an 806 I was carrying tip up and it had worked loose enough that the blade slipped out. I make sure all my knives have enough tension to prevent this now.

    Good point.

    Just the right amount of tension on the blade makes the argument on tip up or down irrelavent.

    I'm using Hornandy Critical duty today. I shot over 400+ rounds with 0 FAILURE OR anything negative. I love the heck outta this ccw, its very accurate and I like the trigger.

    I've shot 124 grain ball and a variety of SD loads and it works just great. When I'm doing home visits at work it doesn't print or anything even with the OWB Galco stinger.

    I bought a solo for the GF for Xmas as well and I hoping it will be in by Christmas eve. She getting a much better gift though and may forget all about the solo haha.


    I'm a Kimber, Kahr, HK, Sig Sauer and Glock fanboy so I am slightly bias.

    Going Christmas shopping, so I have my holiday tactical mall entry load today. I'm usually not a big "2 is 1, 1 is none" guy until I have to go to a mall in a town full of tweekers lol.

    Edit: damn, forgot my knife in my pocket. Imagine a 940 in the pile lol.

    Supermall first (or Outlet Collection, whatever they call themselves now), and Southcenter or SeaTac if I strike out in Auburn. Most people are getting gift cards this year so hopefully the rest will be easy.
