I believe it is Aluminum anodized. Version 2, IIRC.

    NSA,
Your blackout Vans inspired me to post a pair of top-of-the-line, Adidas soccer shoes I modified for casual wear. I ground the cleats down, then cut out and cemented industrial rubber to those areas.

    Kangaroo leather, by the way.

    NSA,
Your Vans reminded me of a pair of top-of-the-line Adidas soccer shoes I modded for street wear. I ground down the cleats, then cut out and cemented industrial rubber to those areas. They've held up well for several years now.
    Kangaroo leather, by the way.

    Nice Blackouts NSA

    Kinda a shoe horse myself

Recently got back into Chucks..bought a couple of colors..A blacked out set of Puma's (Remember Puma) similar to your Vans..And a pair of Nike Air Jeter/Jordan "Throwbacks" that I had stashed in the closet for years..just broke 'em out last year..

Id be down for a footwear thread..Also a jacket/coat junkie..too much money on North face last year.

They're about the same as the Vans, DG's or most of the "skater" type sneaker..my biggest issues are the flat bottoms and zero arch support..(I have high arches)..Got back into the Chuck Taylors a few years ago..so cheap..lotta flavors..

Digging the Van "Blackputs..just bought a pair of Pumas that are similar..and broke out a pair of Nike Air Jeter/Jordan "Throwbacks" I had stashed in the closet for years..

Id be down for a dedicated thread..show of some Keens, Red Wing and Irish Setters..

They're about the same as Vans, DC's and most of the "Skater" type sneakers..no break in needed..my biggest issues are the flat bottoms and zero arch support. (I have high arches)..I put arch supports in most of my footwear anyway.

Nice "Blackouts"..I just bought a pair of Puma that are similar.

Id be down for a dedicated thread

But someone get on that, okay?
I'll pop in and share my decent collection of Converse All Stars when it's up. I've got some pretty crazy stuff, some of which goes waaaay back.
    Gotta take some pics first.

    Looks nice, NSA.

Are you going shooting over the weekend? I went today and burned up about 120 rds in my new Sig p238. That makes 400 rds through it. It should be good for SD now. Kahr used to say, "don't use this pistol for self defense until you have at least 100 rds through it. Some local cops put 1,000+ rds through theirs before they'll carry em on duty.

All I can say is they sure get smooth after about 500.

i'm bad, i get out maybe every 2-3 months. even have a nice indoor range less that a few miles from me so not even an excuse...

I think Patrick carries one of those sigs too. I have couple sigs, but that's one caliber I've never owned by any maker. kahr pm9 wasn't doing too good for first several boxes, but when i eventually got around to replacing all my mag followers with metal lakelines I had zero issues after that & trust it as my primary these days. mine's a slightly older model and I think kahr may have subsequently redesigned followers and they resolved feeding problems (?)

yeah, ayoob and others used to mention a few hundred of the particular defense round you're wanting to carry without any issues, but who can afford to do that nowadays... it's still sound advice though.

how accurate is sig at distances you're practicing? a couple sessions ago I messed around at 25 yards with pm9 and was actually hitting target, albeit a 12+" pattern, lol. he'll, I can barely even see that far with my glasses...

The 340 PD has been my main EDC 90% of the time since '06. Hard to beat 11oz.

Unless it's hindered by a seatbelt, in which case this (G36 .45) is always ready. I've had to pull this twice (brandished on one of those).

One of my coffee table books. I took the (G27 .40) to Goodwill to size the right book for the job - Glory Days (Bruce Springsteen). Yuck. Who'd ever even pick that up off of a coffee table?!

Bed-post (XD-45). I made the crap Kydex holster to accommodate the railed Streamlight, plus I wanted a very loose fit. And I'm too cheap to buy one for this application.

I've always felt vulnerable in the shower, hence the greased-up Safe-Keeper (Cold Steel).

There are several more, well-concealed, but always within arm's reach. No pics of those. Heck, not good OpSec to post what I've already posted.
