Belt sanders produce a convex edge. Paper wheel will give concave edge.Of the three concave is my least favorite but don't underestimate paper wheel as an abrasive sharpening tool.

I have tried them and they are fast and work OK. It gives a real toothy edges. I think the paper wheel probably works better. Shopsmith supposedly is a great strip sander but way too much money for...
