    Welcome Vinc

If you are going to use loctite then most people prefer the purple at pivot. It will hold everything in place, but it is the easiest to remove. I don't use any & just do weekly maintenance.

Typically connections will loosen due to warm ~ cold cycles. Repeated thermal expansion & contraction, even more so in stainless or hardened steel connections

    /|\ Yes welcome Vince.

+1 on what Tu advised. I’ve lots of Benchmade’s & never needed Loctite on any of my knives until recently. I’ve one of the early 940-1 that has same size pivot as original 940’s. Benchmade within 1st year of production of the 940-1 changed the pivot. It is my believe the 940-1 being wider than the 940 (.44” vs .41”) that 940 pivot when used on those first 940-1 doesn’t go deep enough & so the pivot screw tends to loosen up quicker. Benchmade will swap out the pivot for me if I send it in.  They would mail the screw part but not female part ( installation of female part yourself voids the warranty). Before sending in this 940-1 that I EDC most I decided to try a drop of purple Loctite a month ago & so far its worked.

And I’m one that likes to use LockTite 222 Purple!

You can buy it on line.

I've been using this (threadlocker) on some custom Ti pivot screws which have a coarser thread and tend to loose up more quickly:

Works well and I guess it's more or less the same thing as the Loctite.
Never needed it for any normal pivots though...

Ive been using plumbers Teflon tape.  Keeps the screw tight, but allows you to adjust without worry of breaking a bond.  Been working well so far!

FWIW.  I had major problems with my regular carry Bedlam pivot coming loose.

I use blue loctite, the tiniest amount, and it holds tight.

As I use my Bedlam to butcher game, I have to fully break it down 3-4 times a year.  I never have a problem breaking the loctite and I have never had a problem with it breaking under even very heavy use.

From the above, mileage my vary.  But this is my experience.

Ditto on teflon tape, I split it in half as it's wider than needed for this purpose.  10/12 wraps or so, it'll never loosen.

/|\  I like the idea of using plumbers tape on pivot screws.

Here my problem- I’ve difficulty wrapping the pipe for my shower head. Trying to wrap that tape on  a tinny ween screw impost for me.

Now I’m sure my wife with small fingers & vastly more dexterity could do it, but then I’d be in her  debt & that’s a spot no husband wants to be in.🤭

    The tape would surely work.

But like Bill said it’s hard to wrap around.

The LT 222 purple is easy peezie and works great
