Updated Policy for Authentication

That's sure to make for some irate customers. Past, present, & probably not future. I would imagine that there is a significant number of people who are not educated enough to spot a counterfeit Benchmade. After saving up for that first $300 knife, that dulls quickly or has some other issue, they send it in only to have it confiscated. Unable to return it and out the money. I know you are a business but this seems a bit harsh.

Honestly, this is the same policy we've had in place on the website for some time now. The only change, is that our employees cannot vouch for the authenticity of a knife without it being sent in. As certain counterfeits become harder to identify remotely, we want to make sure we're not putting anyone in a bad position, with unintentionally bad advice.

How is that harsh? They don't want fakes out there giving people a bad impression of the real thing. It's not their fault someone bought a fake. Unless the person bought the knife directly from Benchmade, it's not Benchmade's responsibility to pay the person back for buying a fake.
