I think its going to ship in a couple weeks.

The first batch is on its way to KW now. I need a couple. Frankly, I'm more interested in these than the 710. 0 -
It seems the only thing that is special about this model is the handle color, is it? 0 -

That plus the blade is stonewash and S30v.0 -

Steel as well.
I think I might take a pass on this one.0 -
Just ordered and they took my money, so I assume it's on it's way. KW's never let me down yet! And yes, as far as I know, the only unique thing is the light grey color. 0 -
Thanks brothers, I think I am going to order one anyway just to show support for a dealer who has come up with a number of pretty nice exclusives this year. I hope they can continue rolling out these limited runs. 0 -
A few questions:
Is Noryl GTX is what the current Grips are made of?
Is Light Grey is a new color for Grip scales? (I don't know my Grip history)
Is this a first for BM, to do stone washed on the MDP? (I know the Ritrers are SW).
I see they are "not serial numbered". Are quantities limited?0 -
I will probably have to get one anyway but I had been thinking getting a regular sized Ritter Grip in s30v SW.
Which is better for this knife, MDP or Ritter?
I have some Mini's and I like the Ritter's better.
I don't have any regular Grips yet.0 -

Grey handle
s30v steel
stonewashed instead of satin finish.
The only other Grip you can get in SW is a Ritter for more $$.0 -

AARGH...it's the scales that don't do it for me. Done in G-10 I'd be standing in line.
OK - you asked; legions own and love the Grips...I prefer the Ritter, it's the better blade, IMO, and if ordered from the same place it's shipped free.
Since the scales are the same, it's a personal choice. With gray scales and the drop point SW blade I'm sure it will look great.0 -

Is Light Grey is a new color for Grip scales? (I don't know my Grip history) <-- I think so, at least not available in the customization program from Benchmade
Is this a first for BM, to do stone washed on the MDP? (I know the Ritrers are SW). <-- I think so too
I see they are "not serial numbered". Are quantities limited? <-- Don't know0 -
I think I will be giving this one a miss.
Too close to the Ritter for only a few bucks cheaper, and with the 707 LE coming up shortly and the 940 coming soon, my money is better saved for those 2...0 -
I'm passing on this one. Waiting for the 710,707 and 940. 0 -
I agree, the 707 and 940 are on the top of the list. The scales don't do much for me either. In the end I would probably get a ritter grip as I like my mini ritter much more than my mini grip.
@Joe, at least with the grips there are tons of after market scales out there.
I wouldn't mind seeing the SW blade show up in the BM custom shop though.0 -
I do appreciate the head up on this one. I had checked KW new arrivals today. Why is this not in new arrivals or pre orders section? 0 -

Same dilemma I have, as long as they're still available next February when I can afford another knife.0 -
I just ordered mine today and I'm looking forward to it.
But I thought the 710 will come first...

ordered one... couldn't resist the stonewashed blade

This one doesn't really do it for me, but if I understand benchmade model numbers correctly, doesn't this suggest theres another limited 551 in the works for 2013? 0 -

That's my understanding as well.0 -
looks like they are in fact serial numbered after all. i wonder if they popped opened box and were like, 'er?...'. 0 -

It is the BM way to keep you guessing.
They dropped the text about the blades being stonewashed.
Pics are up as well.0 -

yeah, kw just called to advise that benchmade sent them out without stonewash and to verify that i still wished to proceed with order. i went ahead with order regardless. kw is definitely a class act throughout.0 -
Just to verify both of NoSuch's comments:
1. KW did call to say the blades are numbered (x of 500) and they are satin finished s30v, not stonewashed.
2. And yes, KW has always been a class act in my book. They've worked with us to get great knives produced, sold them at good prices, and provide the best in customer service, in my experience. Just got off the phone with Melissa -- great people to work with.0 -
I hope when these arrive someone will post up some pics.

Satin? Meh. I was really looking forward to stonewash. 0 -
I'm sad about too the blade isn't stonewashed but I still proceed my order.
