It looks like some big battles will come from the lower left hand quadrant. It's all about the seeding.

I hope someone feels energetic enough to post some of the winners in this thread. I know many of us here detest facebook.

Next time they might want to go AFCK/TSEK because somes like 805 TSEKS and they are so close to AFCK's that their handles are interchangable. 805's aren't even on the chart.

The Ritters being grouped into the Griptilian Family will help boost the Grip chances.

The Presidios, 940 Family and 710's have to duke it out just to get to the finals, so there's a lot less chance for another 710 sweep.

If we could chime in some other way then Facebook, that'd be great.

    No 615?

Here are the latest results from the Benchmade Bracket Battle... Some interesting upsets...

Wow, who would have thought that the 890 could defeat the entire AFCK Family? I actually had to call up an image of the 890 to remember what they even look like.

Also, it is interesting to see that the relative newcomer, 810 beat one of the most beautiful knives in Benchmade history...the 630.

    I demand a recount!!

This pleases me since I could never use the 630, being a right-hand only knife...

Most Contego owners have never had a Skirmish.
Same might apply for the AFCK. Hard to compete against a newer, cheaper and available knife.

Ya, you make a point. I wonder if the average voter isn't quite young, too. A big part of the young thumbers would be all over a facebook vote.

I suppose it might be like someone trying to vote for the best production rifle ever made when they are too young to have ever owned a pre-64 Model 70 Winchester. They might just vote for the Rem 700 not knowing they had just passed over one of the classics of all time.

That brings out a good point. Perhaps BKC should consider 630 in AXIS lock? I for one think that we really love BKC in part that AXIS lock. It really solves this ambidextrous open / close of folder by one hand.

MFL, good idea on an Axis 630. My pipe-dream 630 would have an Axis lock, no titanium handles, just some thin CF over SS or titanium liners. Add an M390 satin blade and it would rival many custom knives out there.

Don't get me wrong, titanium is great to look at, especially the way you can color it with heat or electricity, and it is light weight and strong, but it has always had flaws as a handle material:

It's cold, often slippery and it scratches nearly every time you use it.

As far as the bracket battle goes, I'm interested to see how the Presidio family does against the 940 family. They both have huge followings.

Sames goes for the showdown between the 732 Ares and the 42.

Looks like presidio family is loosing, that stinks.

Yea these are fun, we did one a long time ago on the forum. In that, however I "seeded" the knives so there were no showdowns early between heavyweights. If you note the 940 and the 710 are in the same region so one will not make it out of that region. But that aside this still is fun.

At this point I see the final four as:

300 vs. 710 (the 720 could sneek in over the 300)
    Barrage vs. Griptilian

Hate to see the Persido family and the AFCK family go down so quickly. I predict another 710 win.

So does that make the 710 the "Duke" of the Benchmade family?

I don't hate Facebook so I am voting.
    Smiler

I never understood peoples hatred or diversion towards social media, it is simply what you make of it. IMHO.

I also want to formally go on the record as making a protest.

The 420 was no included in the backet.

I stopped paying attention when people think the 890 is better then the AFCK.
    Roll Eyes

However, if BM would come out with a new AFCK it might bring them to the for front of peoples minds.

I'm actually worried for my 950 going up against the Griptilian family. My favorite may not make it into the next round.

If only there was some way to vote like a Chicago Democrat...

Yeah I completely lost interest when the AFCK went out.

I think they should make another AFCK as well. Perhaps a ti-framelock version?

Arrgh, my turn to be sour about this. Griptilian over Rift? 43 over 810? Blah!

  • fastjan
I think more Griptilians sell than any other model. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the last knife standing.

I'm rooting for the grip or the 42, both my faves, it'll be a tough choice if it comes down to them, but I think I know which one I'd choose...
