Drop Point VS Tanto on Axis/Mini-Axis Styker
I was looking at the Styker series. They look and seem great. I was wondering what you guys like / prefer for blade shape on these and why?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Drop point because that's what I like though I own both. 0 -
I wanted to like the tanto but for what I use my knife for, the straight edge is not the best approach, although it's super easy to sharpen. 0 -
Tanto style geometries are optimized for strength while piercing tough materials, but my use cases are overwhelmingly slicing and cutting instead of piercing. So aside from the fact that I don't really like the assthetics of a tanto blade, they're just not as practical for me. Lose-lose.
(I meant to say aesthetics above, but the Freudian slip was amusing so I left it in.)

I would like it, if "Tanto" is "Osborne Tanto" 0 -
Voted Drop Point, especially considering this will most likely be your EDC (I'm thinking practicality in a utility sense).
Great all-around blade grind with good belly & strength.0 -
Another drop point here. I don't have a need for a tanto shape blade. My needs are more for slicing and cutting. 0 -
drop point. have had tons of both. 0 -
I have a tanto mini stryker and it's nowhere near as useful for EDC as a drop point would be for me. 0 -
Unanimous so far for the drop point. 0 -

Great all-around blade
Looks like I will be getting the drop point then
Yeah I only have one sub 3" knife and its a sub 2.5" for Chicago carry. I have larger 3" - 4" folders but was looking for one under 3" but larger than 2.5" and the Stryker fits the bill.
EDIT: This is my sub 2.5" knife by the way

Not even one token vote for tanto... Wow. I think the people have spoken.0 -

It'd be unanimous for "reverse tanto" if that was an option haha!
Jason, is there any hope for future reverse tanto designs after Osbourne's passing?0 -
I own several of each & it's a 908bk-1501 in my left rear pocket nearly every day. 0 -

Just got em!
Here is some pics for you-all. They are both great. I love the 1401 version of the Contego so much more. It is amazing.

The only tanto blade I've ever liked is the Chris Reeve tanto. I'm not usually a fan. 0 -
