Well, I just wanted to share my excitement in the place where I know others will appreciate it. I'm finally cobbling together a mini Grip for myself. A brand new set of Natural Titanium WilkinsGRIP scales are on the way along with (hopefully!) a 556-1303 with the M4 blade. I'll try to get a few pics up as soon as I have it all in hand. Any advice about installing WilkinsGRIPs? I know there are a bunch of videos, but which ones are best?

very nice combination. I haven't seen any videos but have put a few Wilkins on. Having good quality torx will make a big difference and keep the screws from getting messed up.

I own the Benchmade Blue box Torx set. Worth going to Lowes and buying a new set when I buy some Loc Tite?

I love Benchmade and all, but their torx bits are not what I would consider good quality. At least the one time I used them which was many years ago. Maybe they're improved now. I'd get some nice fixed ones that you can get a good grip on.

I bought two sets of torx drivers from Lowes...Kobalt brand with storage in the handle. They all still work except the tiny T6's that you need for the thumbstuds and clips. I stripped the T6's off years ago and needed something better. I agree with different and would recommend that you at least buy two of the T6 screwdriver type torx drivers from Wiha or equal.

I didn't knew but Wiha is german tools & torx company,since I bought one PicoFinish set
I can say it's the best.

Do not over tighten ........this is a key thing.
Thats how screws get stripped etc.

you shouldn't have any trouble putting the scales on. I did it cold turkey my first time and everything was fine.
I also have the blue box torx set from BM and have not had any problems with them.

I finally installed the new Wilkins today and am ecstatic with how it turned out. I had a hell of a time getting the pivot back in, but I eventually made it through.

On a side note, one set of brand new, standard black mini Grip scales is free to anyone who wants them. I'll even ship them (in US) for free to spread some holiday cheer.

The aluminum Wilkins look so nice! I'd get one but I could never carry it for fear of scratching it up

Fortunately I don't think minor scratches will be too visible on my bead blasted titanium. Even if some are, I like it too much to let it sit! It will just add to the character anyway.
