Now that looks exciting!
Regaurding the other new models, what's with the axis lock? Looks like a little slab instead of the studs. Something new for there autos perhaps??0 -

Yah ........me too0 -
It looks like smoother G10 / M390 version of Lg Emisally 477. (Speaking of which, there is Aua version, 477-1)
Again, I need to see blade size...0 -
Hey that looks great! That's the first benchmade I've seen in awhile that looks like a contender for basic EDC. I like! 0 -
Reminded me of a Torrent when I first saw it... 0 -
Im down on this one, for sure. Ares-esque blade shape (love that mod'ed spear), slim, simple. G-10/M390..sub $200...Im in. 0 -
This one's just a little fella. 3" blade.
I love this knife. It's like it's not even in your pocket. Been carrying it in rotation with a 940-1 in the front right pocket with the cell phone, and been rocking a 581BK that I pimped out in the back left pocket.
Plus... M390.0 -
Jason, can you post a pic of your tricked out 581? Would love to see that knife. quote:Originally posted by BMK Jason:

That is one sweet little knife. Gonna have me one a'them.
I have to say, between the Valet and the 665, Benchmade is coming out with some very graceful designs this year.
One niggle - back spacers! standoffs are SO Cheap!

Wow, it sounds like it would make very fancy "office" carry. Especially to the big city where frequently restrict blade length. (Thankfully my city limits to 3.5)
Can't wait to test it out how it feels in person!0 -
Yeah it's a pretty great carry for EDC applications. You're not going to use it for splitting wood, but it covers anything you could need for a daily user. 0 -
MFL 3.5 max is better than what I can carry in NYC!
Jason do you guys need more testers for new prototypes? I've lots of pockets! Seriously looking forward to getting this one, questions
1)how much does it weigh
2) who designed it
3) are liners partly nested, can see them on top by back spacer but not the bottom
4) is KW going to do a -1501 version with blue / black G-10 handle
Thanks Bill0 -

Haha! I'll keep ya in mind!
1. I believe it landed right around (maybe just over?) 2 oz.
2. It's a BMK internal design.
3. The liners are full, actually. No cartridge and no nesting.
4. I don't know yet, actually. Haven't heard anything about it, but I wouldn't be shocked. If so, I bet they'd wait until next year to do it. Make it a 485-1601 or something.

This one is looking pretty classy.
Does it have a shrunken down version of the axis lock like the 770 did or is it the normal size?0 -

It's about 80% of the size of your average AXIS lock.0 -
Janson thanks
Ryan hope your up for making some CF handles for this one0 -
Oh yeah, I'm digging this 485. I usually don't carry anything less than 3", but this one looks like a baby Ares blade so it would definitely find a place in my collection. 0 -

I can attest that the 485 is a great little knife, I can't wait to get one in my hands, and keep it this time.0 -
When do they ship? 0 -

Might have to give this one a shot for EDC. I like the full liners, don't know if it will be a 960 beater for gents knife of the century, we will have to see... 0 -
Jason, are there lightening hole in the liners of the 485 ( & 484)?
Thanks Bill0 -
Jason (or anyone else) - is the clip screw pattern the same as the standard Benchmade pattern? I may be an oddball, but I'd prefer a split arrow clip on this one, I think.

Looked like the deep carry clip from the 470 to me.0
