It looks like the blue silver twill G10 that I used on my 581 to me.
You know you will get more detail on the bright blue spots with a finer sanding and a little buffing. Have you thinned the material down, or is that the thickness it came in? I love that twill. It's pretty classy lookin' stuff don't you think? Are you using standoffs or the stock hardware? I can't tell from the picture. They're lookin' good so far. Nice work something.0 -

It is layered CF and blue G10. The thickest points are still full thickness. I'm using standoffs.
The problem is, that I made the other side first and wasn't really happy with how it turned out, so I went a completely different direction with this one, just to see what it would look like, so I'm not sure what I'll end up with... I need to either change both sides a lot to make them match, or start over...
That blue twill is definitely some cool stuff, I need to try doing something with that one of these days....0 -
This is the other side of my CF/Blue G10 scales... as you can see they aren't quite the same

cool..cool...
I shoot a lot of photos to get a few great ones.
Work with the zoom a bit and not actually getting the camera closer to what i am shooting was a big help on clearity.0 -
This is shot just like my previous two photos...
but what an amazing difference angle can make on the outcome.
actually i believe i only used the flash this time, no assistance with the flashlight.0 -
The only thing that would look better than that photo is if keyman could make me some scales that were that actuall color!!! 0 -
