Stonewashed M390 Ritter Griptilians
I think we are ready for these. What do you think?

A lot of the cost of the Wilkins may not be actual cost but just the rate of exchange between currencies. I also like the wilkins a lot and don't mind the backspacers being bigger.. I think it's meant to stick out for providing more grip? The thing I dislike mostly about the Wilkins is the rows of little holes on the scales... but then maybe they look silly without them so the need to be there. 0 -

Just popping in to see if there're any updates.

I had a set of CF Cuscadis on a full size grip--the fit was not the best and a few of the hardware holes were over-drilled--pretty much turned me off to them.
I have a mini grip with black G10 Wilkins coming--the thread cursed me.0 -
I only have one set of Cuscadi but it's every bit as well done as my Wilkins. 0 -
I still say any steel for the blade, and contoured G-10 just like the Gold Class Grip for under $200 would be a homerun. IMHO, they'd sell out fast. 0 -

Yes they would, +1.0 -

I wouldn't say any steel.... my preference would me m390, but I sure wouldn't mind some of the Carpenter steels that seem to be less expensive and are very good. I wouldn't get overly excited about a new Ritter even with textured g10 if it had 154cm or even s30v.0 -

Agreed. I can already get an S30V Ritter with G10 from Cuscudi or Wilkins for a little bit more than that, so that wouldn't really be all the exciting for me either
I would love to see Benchmade use some of the Carpenter steels, I wouldn't mind a clear/grey coated M4 either... but M390 would still be my first choice.0 -

Yeah, I wasn't very clear. I meant m390 or a carpenter. Heck, I'd take M4 with that clear cerakote too. I just meant a "newer" steel but I am not too picky about which one.0 -

I'll pass if it gonna be s30v, 154cm or D2.
M4 with a clear cerakote? I'd probably bite.
But it's a new steel that I'm looking for. M390 fits that bill quite well; as many others also would I am sure.0 -
Doug; I know you're reading this. We have enough stuff in M4, how about a Ritter in black G-10 and in satin stone washed M390 with satin liners and fittings? Dang, I thought I'd save money on knives this year...

Grips have been around for awhile and what I would like to see is a complete redesign of the regular catalogue item. I would like the Lg. Grip to have full steel liners, and both the large/small to have G-10 scales. And S30V steel (although I can be flexible on this).
The only real issue with this is productions cost will be a little higher and so a higher price will need to be charged. Potentially this will put the Grips into closer proximity toh the $100ish knives leaving Benchmade with too many knives at XX.xx price point and not enough at another. Perhaps this is why there has been no G10 grip to date?0 -
I think the Griptilian is good just how it is and the price it is. However since the Ritter is already an upscale model, I think it would be great to upgrade it to g-10 and better steel. Or just do some limited editions like they've done with it already before with better steel, but this time add g-10 instead. I don't think it would make sense for Benchmade to change the standard Griptilian because of cost increase. As far as full steel liners, well those might make people stop whining about how the 551 "feels cheap" 0 -
I'm in for two matching pair no matter what but i'd love to see this happen in Yellow G-10 preferably, any G-10 will do and M390. I'd say if they did the limited M390 G-10 710's for $180 i'm hoping these will come in at 150-160 as they're smaller. Also i'd really like to see the scales a bit thinner on both knives especially the large!!! thanks Doug and Roger!!! !!! !!! 0 -
We're still waiting?!
Oh, and by the way. The finish on the last LE run of M4 Ritters; the stonewashed DLC? It is freakin' awesome! You could do that again critter.

I'll be back............0 -
M390 please, unless its a stainless equivalent, like what carpenter has. I'll take some upgraded scales, if we'd be so lucky. Although, I can find a nice set of scales for the M390 blade regardless. 0 -

I bet you're right!
I'm still waiting for my M390 Ritter...0 -
m390 Ritter is good, but not good enough. m390 Ritter with g10 textured scales.
no compromising!0 -
Still not good enough... it needs to be stonewashed too! 0 -
and have solid gold thumbstuds!
well...nevermind that, but yeah I forgot the stonewashed part0 -
Critter,
I would be very happy to see these M390 blades in stonewashed.......and in stonewashed DLC too.
That would be an awesome option. If there were two different colored blades available...but limited? I'd have to buy more of them!?!
Wait, wait, wait.....now I've confused mysef.
Is 2 different colored blades a good idea......or a bad idea?
Hmmm?0 -
I'm pretty sure two knives is always better than one

Would you be interested in selling it. If so let me know.0 -
Agreed! That DLC coating is superb. However a regular stonewashed M390 blade would be dreamy too.
