I don't EDC the 610, but on a hike, or a campout, it is worth every ounce and carries like a dream.

I just take a Fixed Blade Knife (of another Brand) on or in my back pack and be done with it...

I've been particularly impressed with the serrations that CRK puts on their fixed blades, such as the Pacific that I have with a 6.5" blade and rough canvas micarta handle. If you turn the knife edge-up, you will notice that they began with one serration ground on the right side, then one on the left, and so forth until there are four cut on the right and three on the left, This achieves a 1.5" area of serrations that work well and align with the PE part of the blade.
    Cool

I prefer to have those serrations. Why? Because they are cut at twice as steep an angle as the rest of the edge and because they act like a saw blade. As our friend Archer once stated, if you don't think they are better, try sawing a board with a very sharp saw that has no teeth. It won't do it.
