Handle materials
We've talked about blades, but what about the rest of the knife? What are some materials you would like to see us using for handles, bolsters,or accents (spacers, inlays, latches, etc.).

I would love to see more g 10 used in backspacers. plastic does the job - g 10 just does it better. Better feel and better colour. 0 -
I wish more attention was paid to grip;/texture. I recognize that when you DO that (520 alum scales come to mind) you can get as many complaints as accolades-- but for some, grippy is a priority. 0 -
Someone had a great suggestion in one of the other threads - Do another/more handle configurations with interchangable scales like the 610/615 Rosewood, CF, Silver Tweed, Black G10 scales. 0 -
I'd like to see individual scales for sale for the griptilians. All the colors plus G10/cf versions. So you could dress up your grip for whatever occasion or mood. 0 -

Actually, Ironwood does not fair very well in stabilizing process.
The wood is so dense that the stabilizing fluids will not penetrate it fully.0 -
It's not about materials but why not to bring some scales

Grips- CF and G10 on the handle scale custom choice, and please, please, please some other material other than Alu on the 520, CF or G10 PLEASE 0 -

While I like lots of materials, lots have been done in just about everything.
Maybe go back and take another look at the past.
SS & Natural materials? Micarta & Wood?
CF & Wood? SS & CF? Ti & Polished G-10?
The options are limitless.
Just keep the colors calm....... Orange, Bright green etc have been played out. Time to get classy again.
Black & Ti/SS etc..........
High polished blades could use a little come back as well.
Just my 2.

We just need to make sure we learn from the past. Come up with something new, but nothing that's cold and slick, nothing that scratches, nothing that absorbs moisture, sweat and germs, nothing that crumbles or deteriorates with use and most of all, it can't be fugly.

My personal faves would be CF, Ti, Wood, & colored G10.
The CampPerry is a step in the right direction, if only M390 or S90V or CTS204P, but I digress... We don't need crazy loud colorful knives that draw too much attention but classy hints of color show refinement
I like how the SHOT Grips' G10 turned out. Am I the only one who it kinda reminds of a redwood or dark wood scale?
This got me thinkin about carrying a Shot Grip on one side + a CampPerry on the other... Like a scene out of the Matrix but with
knives instead of pills. Lol

Agreed,
Ultra bright orange, red, blue, or green is a no-no.
But light anodized colors are a yes, especially on Ti. Similar to the 940-121 (BM had it dark/bright green on the website, however, it comes nothing like that - pretty light in actuality).
I love nicley machined, anodized Ti. Inlays or bolsters would be a great mix as history has proven.
In sum, my favorite list is:
- Ti
- Layered CF
- Canvas Micarta (or other non-explored versions)
- Damscus (scales, inlays, or bolsters)
Non-Fav's:
- Woods (unless it's African hardwood) I'm not a fan of the wood BM uses.
- Non-textured G10 (Ex: 710 handle) Please texture it like the 810
- Aluminum - Major dislike, chips like a mofo and looks horrible.
That's pretty much it lol

I am a fan of the good old G-10. It has always worked perfectly for me. The texturing of the 860 Bedlam is excellent! You have it already and you have made a similar handle on the Volly, which was a great idea. I see no reason why you don't put this pattern on more of your tactical/Blak Class models.
PM mentioned the 710. It definitely needs thicker G-10 slabs with or without some texturing. I would prefer some pattern. Tuf Knives Reptilian or Diamond pattern or your own "Bedlam texturing" would do great. I've done some heavy cutting with my 710 and the handle is very uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, I love the knife, but 2 mm thicker slabs on each side would make it one of the undisputedly best folders in the world. It has no other issues whatever! My secret BM dream was a tactical version of the 710 with 4,5" blade, black G-10, textured like the Bedlam, Black Class axis and don't forget the glass breaker!That would be a killer knife, however heftty it comes out.
Different slabs with different patterns for some folders and fixed blades (to be sold separately) is the best approach to handle materials that I see. Thus, with some little input you'll produce semi-custom knives and we, the customers, will be able to make our own modifications.
I like woods too and I agree that revealing the grain is important. However, this is just one of the many options. The general framework is what matters, IMHO. (The customer being able to buy the slabs of his liking against buying only one expensive set with the knife, or one that he doesn't like that much.)
You have done that in the past with some knives. More options -- more happy BM customers, that's the way I see it.0 -
