537-2301 Chalky Feel
Is there a way to get rid of the chalky finish on the orange Bailout?
I have the M4 bailout and the full immunity. The aluminum on both of those knives is smooth and my fingers glide over the milling. I'd love for my shot show bailout to join the smooth aluminum club.

Ah…I don’t think so. The orange on the Shot Show is more like a powder coat “paint”, so you get that “chalky-ness”, while the new Immunity models use what appears to be an anodized finish. So I think the only way to get that feel would be to bead blast the Shot Show model, polish the underlying aluminum scales, and then get them anodized in orange. And that’s totally doable - tons of shops can perform that service for you!

I think over time and use that chalkiness will fade. That’s what happened on assorted 940 and 520 for me. Just use the knife.

I would to compare to the paint. One is gloss (or semi gloss). One is flat finish.
The gloss one are smooth and not easy to leave marks and easy to wipe off.
The flat one are easy to catch some stuff and wear easily.

Thanks for the ideas, all!
I ironically haven't carried it much because of the feel, but it seems like regular use might get the finish to where I want it.
