Custom Kydex Sheath for folder

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a 916SBK-ORG and would prefer to have it with a kydex sheath for easy access. Do anyone have any experience or recommendations?

  /|\ Gunny are you planning to carry the knife blade open in the sheath?

  And the reason you want the safety of the kydex sheath. There are shops on the internet that do that kind of custom work, but none I’ve used, so can’t help with a recommendation.
  
  

  If your sheathing your folder blade closed, then I’ve alternatives. I like carrying my larger folders ( 4” blades) horizontal in a belt sheath.

  I found the Benchmade’s horizontal sheath for their balisongs are very comfortable. Second choice are Maxpedition knife pouch, heavier build then the Benchmade, but does  come in a variety of colors. Personally I prefer the soft case to hard case for comfort . I do carry some 4” fixed blades in kydex sheaths horizontal carry, comfortable but you’ll know you have a knife on your belt .

  Google "kydex sheath folder", and a few minutes scrolling will give you several craftsmen to try.

  I am a devotee of Al Welke's kydex sheaths (azwelke.com), but don't know if he would be willing to do a folder sheath. Not part of his usual product offerings.

  But you will see several that advertise sheaths for folders.
