Shootout Springs

Hey Guys,

Anyone know where to find the conical springs in the shootout?

  I didn't know it had conical springs nor do I know where to get them other than Benchmade installing them under warranty.  But if you have one opened up, could you post a picture?

  Well the one that I have apart is a clone that I dyed the scales on.  I have an OEM Benchmade shootout as well and the clone is very similar to the real one in construction. I have seen videos somewhere on YouTube about disassembly and the clone was exactly what I expected when I got it open.  Everyone recommends not taking them apart and for good reason.  The two conical springs are very easy to lose.  They want to fly out when you separate the two halves.  Here’s some pics.  Real one works the same way.  The springs are in these little tabs that I’m pointing to.  The tabs catch a notch at the base of the blade when it’s open or closed.  The spring compresses and the tabs move out of the way when the blade travels.
