  I thought he made lots of solid points. One of which was that if we are going to drop billions of dollars in assistance to a corrupt government then we should at least have someone in place to account for where the money is spent. You would think both sides would agree on that unless it threatens to get in the way of paybacks to our own corrupt politicians.
  
  As for letting Putin have Ukraine, I think he may eventually have it either way. If so, the question becomes how much do we want to deplete our own resources in the process. And if Putin can be stopped, why isn't Europe stepping up and carrying the ball?

  Why can't Europe focus on threats at their borders and we focus on the threats at our borders.
