Looks legit.  Laser markings are the last thing to be concerned with.

The fakes I’ve seen are very obvious.

    Welcome to the forum ChadStuff!

I don't think the laser markings look faded. Maybe a little lighter than normal. It happens from time to time and I've seen it on other models as well. Laser markings are odd in that they vary depending on the given lighting and angle at which you are looking at them.

Someone on the laser that day didn't set the laser to the proper amperage to get the spec'd depth?

It doesn't appear that the blade has been stonewashed or acid washed to me. All other aspects of your Anthem scream legit and it doesn't have any of the standout counterfeit componentry. But hey if you don't like it you can always send it my way and I can dispose of it properly for you!

Hope this helps and hope to see you posting more here in the forum!

    Thanks gents!

I was 95% on this guy and often help to ID fake 940s.  This has the benchmade milling lines in the blade steel and the white plastic bearings in the pivot!  Just never had my hands on one so the affirmation is much appreciated.

This forum is in my favorites!

    cheers!

Tim do they make counterfeit Anthems?

Seems like it would be a LOT of work to replicate

    BM,

Yes, there are 781 Anthem counterfeits in the wild. They are reasonably obvious. If you browse "the Gate" you can see what they look like and make a comparison of what the counterfeiters got wrong. Hope this helps!

    I hate reading that.

The Anthem is a reasonable hard knife to make and to think they can replicate them sucks

While you may have to look close there is one other thing that really stands out about the pictures from this add. 🤔

No left hand carry? Blurred terrible Butterfly stamp… it’s pretty bad.

Right!  I was only looking at the one pic.  Two piece design.  That one is full of flaws.

The laser marking on my anthem is lighter like the one you show, like others say it depends on how the laser was set up.  I actually work in a factory where we use lasers to mark parts and there are a lot of variables that can lead to lighter or darker marks

Thank you, this is why I love to interact with communities like this.  With so much Chinese crap flooding the markets the second hand market has become difficult to navigate.

I plan to share where I can as well, have a great weekend!
