/|\ the 707 & 705 have a beautiful look to them IMHO. I never carried mine as the full steel liners make them feel heavy in comparison to the 941D2CF that I was EDCing.

The Bugout & mini- Bugout like the 940’s & 945’s have nested liners in fact the metal liner on the Bugout’s & mini-Bugout’s are shorter . The blade thickness on Bugouts & mini-Bugout’s are thinner than the blade on the 940 & 945 making them lighter.
The mini-Bugout 533-3 is my favorite of all the Bugout’s & mini- Bugout’s I’ve purchased. My biggest negative on the 533-3 is the CF is slick ( slippery compared to the CF on the 940-1. I bought the 533-3 for the S90v blade steel.

While I wouldn’t discourage anyone from buying a 533-3 ( I’ve 2), I do prefer the 945. I love the handle design ( and it’s not slippery). I’ve 10+ 945’s. I’ve purchased aftermarket CF & G10 handles plus Ti standoffs for 7 of them. I’ve customized these as I’m waiting on a mini-940-1 with the CF handle & the S90v blades. In addition to EDCing a 940-1 I’ve been carrying either the 533-3 or a 945 with CF handle & Ti standoffs And while the 945 still has only a S30v blade I carry it a lot more than the 533-3.

    Hi Fredrik,

Here are some images for comparison. (556, 707, 533, 535)
The 533 is a bit smaller than the 707 and it's quite a bit lighter.

It's amazing how much blade was in the 707 (and 710 for that matter) for the handle size. The 707 handle is only marginally bigger than the 533's but there's significantly more blade in there.

Thanks everyone for the answers. Great knives and pics. The bugouts looks great! and nice scales on 707. I agree… 707 got a lot of blade!

I ordered a 533-1 earlier today and will probably dye the scales

So I was aiming to dye the mini Bugout dark brown, almost coffee but it turn out kind of earthy orange. Like it though. The knife itself - love it!!

Nice group photo!  The plastics are tough to dye.  I was playing with an orange backspacer off of an MCR that I wasn’t planning on using l, so it was time to experiment.  Hitting it HARD with Rit dark grey for like 24 hours made it burnt orange with brown hues.  I think the best you can do is to use Rit black or Rit Dyemore in Graphite - after long enough, that might get you to a brown color…
