If you are referring to the BKC bags and boxes collectors and even daily users want them for resale whenever that happens.
It also somewhat shows that the knife is authentic - and I did say somewhat.
You will get a better price if you have EVERYTHING that came with the knife.

I think you could use them for ants if you want to.

Over the years more and more collectors felt it necessary to collect complete pieces. This holds true today as BM mentions above. I've seen quite a difference between "Just the knife" and a complete model on the second hand market.
Almost every Benchmade in my collection is complete. Knife, Vault (If originally included), Box, Pouch and Paperwork. When I started collecting I found that when stored in the boxes in my safe they stacked much better affording me a neater and easier to find setup. As the collection grew I found that that was the right decision. All of my Benchmades a free from dust and any corrosion. Some of which of course are safe queens.
If the boxes, pouches and paperwork are still in good condition you may as well put them up for sale on the second hand market. You might make a few bucks to assist in your next purchase!
