940 Backspacer
Does anyone know of an aftermarket back spacer for the 940 ? I've found some options that require different scales but I can't believe I can't find anything that just drops in with the factory scales. I just don't dig the purple.

Since the backspacer is held between the 940s clam shell style scales and is about 1/32" there aren't many options out there. Most of the custom scale and backspacer makers create their products for the 940-1 style configuration which uses barrel spacers. The two variant's components are not interchangeable. While you can use the 940 scales and backspacer on a 940-1 or visa versa you can't interchange the components themselves if that makes sense.
If you don't like the purple of your existing backspacer you'd be better off looking for someone who can re-anodize it. The are a number of shops that can strip the existing ano of the Ti Backspacer and re-anodize it. Your options are limited as Ti can't be anodized in red or black, but almost any other color can be anodized to them.
I know this is probably what you didn't want to hear but really the only options I know of.

the purple is my favorite accent on the handle. the way it sits with the green. it brings me back to late summer 2000, a few days before deer season i was looking for some new steel in the knife case at mack's sporting goods and that's when i first saw the 940.. There was three in the case.. The green handle OG with the purple spacer, which i purchased because i loved the color scheme and also it was 25$ cheaper than the two others that were limited edition. one with a red handle and the other blue.. what i would give to be 18 again in that gun store.. if i were you id find a 940 with a backspacer color that you like and do a swap or get a parts 940 for the spacer and ano to the color u like.
