Just a little vent...The Raghorn.
I don't know if Benchmade looks at these forums, but...The Raghorn. Why? Why have you done this?
It's an orange cerakoted blade - one that is guaranteed to be hitting and scraping against large bones, not some small game like the Flyway. DLC at least? And preferably...can yall get with Spyderco and figure out what magic they posses that makes their DLC the best in existence IMO.
Cruwear blade - one that will be a relative headache to field sharpen unlike the 154cm on the Flyway. Not that I'm poo-pooing the Cruwear, mind you. But can we see a variant in other steels?
A black, smooooooth CF handle that will be impossible to see and give less than ideal grip...unlike the orange g10 scales found on the Flyway.
If you notice my train of thought...why didn't yall just take the Flyway and make it into a Raghorn? Just soak some Flyways in some Miracle Grow?
"But MM", you say..."Just buy a Steep Country!" And sure - I get that. But if Benchmade wanted to distinguish the 15600 from the 15006, why not make the 15600 (which looks like it has AMAZING ergos and I would buy right this moment) with g10 (or preferably Santoprene)?
So basically...I'm whining about the fact that I can't get a 154cm Santoprene satin Raghorn (which I would prefer be stonewashed because nobody wants that satin glare blinding you outside when it reflects the sun right into your eyes).
Waaaaaaaahhhhh wahhhhhhhh! Call the Wahhhh-mbulance to help MM with his whining.
ANd while I'm here...can I politely ask for a combo - a package deal where in one kydex sheath I can get a Flyway and a Raghorn...both in stonewashed CPM-154 plain edge with Santoprene...and a holder for a field sharpener?
Lol...rant over
PS: Santoprene. 154. I still love you guys.

You know that you can dye Cerakote. If the orange is a deal breaker, get one and dye the blade black using Rit Dye More. Make sure to take the knife apart first and only dye the blade

/|\ Thanks Tim good to know.
There is a reason for the old saying
“Smart as a Fox”
And fox184 reaffirms it - the orange is ugly.
I haven’t & will not buy an orange coated blade. Honestly not big on any coated blades, or orange handles or orange sheaths. If I want high visibility, I’ll add a lanyard of high vis paracord & warp the sheath with it too.

I'm also not a fan of coated blades - I like to see the steel. I'm not familiar with Cruwear but I read it is a semi-stainless with decent corrosion resistance. Out of curiosity, why did BM go with Cruwear for a hunting knife that will often be bloody and wet?

The market loves super steels. If they made the knife in 154CM there would be someone saying… “Why 154CM? Is it 2005?”
Cru Wear is actually a fairly balanced steel compared to others.
