M390 barrage mini

This is a long shot but I’m wanting to replace the blade on my custom barrage mini with a m390 blade. I can’t seem to find one for sale anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Welcome to the forum Tiigerclaw03.

  You have a couple of options albeit they are not a cheap ones.

  If you can find a new 586 Mini Barrage in M390 on the secondhand market you could do a blade swap. They do come up now and then but I haven't seen one come up in a while so it may take some time to find one, but it's worth a try.

  If you don't want to wait for something to come up on the secondhand market and you want better blade steel and can forgo M390 you could build a Custom Mini Barrage on the Benchmade website. There you could do an M4, S90V or a Damasteel blade and do a blade swap. The first two would cost you a little over $200. Dama would be almost double that price. There is no M390 option available as yet in theBenchmade Custom Shop for the Mini Barrage. Maybe someday. we can only hope.

  Either way you would have enough parts to put a knife together that you could sell to recoup some of your costs.

  So if it’s a true custom - meaning you bought it through the Benchmade CSTM shop - then you can send it in and pay for a blade swap into any CSTM steel they offer.  You can’t get m390 in the CSTM shop, but you can get the American-made “equivalent” 20cv.

  If you yourself just built up your own “Franken-Barrage” and want a better blade steel, you’ll have to get another Mini Barrage with an m390 blade and do the swap yourself.  For the most part, that means buying a spiffed-up 586 Mini Barrage with the blade you want (plain/combo edge and coated/satin) since those are all pretty much m390 and swapping in the blade (which is easy to do on a 585/586).  You can of course get a limited super snazzy Mini Barrage to get one of the special m390 blades (like the oxide blade on the 586 forum edition).  And I think they released an m390 blade just a few years ago on the regular 585 (or maybe it was an upgrade or something, but that was before my time).  But I do believe that *some* folks got their 585 with m390 during a brief window of time that has been over for a few years.

  It really is.  I think I saw this knife floating around on Reddit a while back - loves the scales.
