I think it’s a blade coating thing.. I don’t know what they use but it’s not good. Maybe a new black blade coating in the works? I just like the 940bt got discontinued and went to “bk” ..? I don’t know just interesting a lot of the blades on the list are bk coated..

Remember guys that may just be a "BK coating" kinda thing as Akillist mentioned. It appears that BMC is currently leaning towards Cerakote. I've heard that DLC in large quantities is a tough thing these days which makes sense. with that in mind it may just be that we'll see more tans, grays and other colors. Like GY-1s

It's always hard to see the discontinued list. Too many knives, not enough money.

That makes it even more confusing - they're (obviously) discontinuing the 601 Tengu Gold Class...but they're also discontinuing the entire 601 along with the 602 Tengu Tool. And yet today (or maybe in a day or two), they're going to release a Gold Class 602 Tengu Tool to match the Gold Class 601. Going out with a bang, I suppose...

Saw it in full color today in the email of a Platinum Benchmade dealer - we were discussing her last GC 601-211 because I was holding it and thinking about buying it and she showed me the email. A much bigger customer than me had just called her and asked her to hold it after she had told him about the matching 602 GC release (he decided to buy the 601-211 once she told him about the 602). It was apparently sent out today at around noon or so. I thought it would be bad form to take a pic of her computer monitor
She did however let me finally peruse the 2022 catalog at my leisure, and I gotta say - (1) the Shootout looks pretty cool and (2) Benchmade has a typo in the description of the partial Auto-Immunity...the blade length on the Immunity, the Auto Immunity, and the Partial Auto Immunity are all listed as the same length, but it would seem that the "partial" in the "Partial Auto Immunity" comes from a shorter blade (or at least the renderings in the catalog make it appear to be a shorter blade).
But it's definitely happening...I assume the announcement will come very soon. I even pointed out the price (she hadn't noticed it in her email). I *think* it said $300, but it could have been $500. Somewhere between those two numbers (although I guess that's a heck of a spread
).I feel strange - am I like the first person to know about this publicly...? Should I not have mentioned this on the boards...?
