concept research
Does anybody know details? Steel? Coating? Looks to be m4 by the look of the bare steel on the tang that or d2.. I don’t think it’s stainless but I could be wrong. The blade coating has a heavy stonewash on it and shines like beat up patina on an old penny or copper pipe. It would be nice to know it’s story. Maybe a candidate for 940-1601 and cabelas gave it a pass? But why put a 810-1601 clip on it? Has anyone seen this clip on anything other than a -1601 contego besides this concept? Where do all the concepts go? There must be more but I’ve only ever seen the OG940, Bali’s and a 941. Any info appreciated. Also how many tang holes for m4? Thanks.

Yep I think Mr. Wulff has or had one and as I recall it is a stonewashed and copper clad blade. He may know the full story!

Looks like it’s a full size 581 but with some heat anodized titanium bolsters and clip, and what a cool effect on the carbon fiber! I wonder what the blade finish is? I’ve never seen a blade finished off that way with big splotches. Considering the GC 581 a barrage fetches over $1000, I imagine this concept would run a hefty amount. Does Benchmade make multiples of these or do they only make a single concept knife?

Oh man! That is amazing looking! It has that barbed wire Damascus and the scales are similar to the gold class Hidden Canyon Hunter! I think I like this model more than the 581-131!

all of these would be top shelf golds.imo. absolutely ridiculous ! so all these are gold class concepts and this 940 is like a blue class exclusive concept.?. the balis are individualy impressive but as a set..damn! that pic never gets old! i had never seen the propers but have owned a gold and they are nice! looks like bmkccould put out a gold proper one a year for a few years..now the 581's are two of the best looking benchmades ive ever seen. where are them at?
might as well get a photo of the 941 concept in this thread as well. and any others you guys can think of..

Here is one that I love. As a huge fan on the Snody activators, I would love to get ahold of one of these. The handles appear to be an inch or more longer than the standard model.
the straight razor also looks cool. And love to see the Kris grind Bali’s.

nice! thank you for posting this. blew my mind! any chance you have the other part of the pic ? looks to be some interesting things over there. at the top almost looks like a fixed lerch impel? razor is very cool indeed. im gonna get an activator some day.. not likely one of these but id be happy with one in satin M4.
