benchmade 325 boomslang
Hey folks,
Not my knife, but I came across a 325 Boomslang for sale and wanted to post in case y’all are interested. I don’t know much about it - it appears to be similar to a Ball 300 (it’s a flipper that I assume isn’t assisted, but the blade is pretty wicked). Asking $450.

Daaaang!! Never seen that one before. Super cool, thanks for sharing.

It's an R&D model that never made it into production. It's pretty cool and very similar to the 300 in regards to it's handle and flipper action. It's also the first model to have a compound grind blade if memory serves me correctly.

I think it also rides on bearings!

Yeah. I looked up what I could and it's a Butch Ball design. So if you're into his stuff, then this sounds good...but Ball hasn't had too much luck in Benchmade circles. I see a blue and white Ball 300-1 that isn't moving at all for $120.

Don’t forget the Vicar prototypes from ‘14 that never made it to production. Then, Sibert himself did the 12 grind blades for BKC on the Gold -151’s (minus the recurve). There are definitely a few protos & possibly show samples floating around of the OG Vicar, but they’re seemingly even more scarce than the R&D Boomslang pieces. I’ve seen the latter sold a handful of times, which are easy to distinguish to their numbering (#1-20), which the Vicar protos don’t have.
