Annoying things found in Benchmade Facebook groups

    You covered it well Mark!

My only add is when thieving sharks join one of the groups and start preying on the neophytes, selling knives with no intention of ever delivering or delivering BS. Before you know it a thread goes up regarding the seller and time is taken by other members identifying the thief and by group mods doing their due diligenct boot. It's just another one of those annoying factors of FB.

    1.  Guys complaining about how any given Benchmade is too expensive, and how they’d never pay that much for one.

    2.  Other members calling the price complainers “poors”.

Guys who’ve never had a Benchmade complaining about QC or Axis springs breaking.

Or clone heavy collection, never purchased from an authorized dealer. Bragging about how cheap they got them. Then going into the "Omega springs suck", flimsy scales, poor HT, crazy blade play

While I do FB I don't do Twitter. I don't post anything on my own page although I'll comment on others. And Yeah I hate them both too!

I do have to admit that there are some Benchmade FB Groups where you can find some decent deals on knives both new and old.

I love Facebook. Hate Twitter. Twitter works if you are a teenager or a celebrity... In other words a narcissist. Besides it is cesspool of triggered people.

    Facebook I love however.

I don't love facebook in general as I spend way too much time on there but if you're a knife enthusiast it's an endless source of information.  A lot of the information is meaningless as Mark has pointed out but it's pretty much the only way you can chat casually with knife makers over the internet.  The larger companies don't have much of a presence on there but the smaller guy's are always checking in on their respective groups, answering questions and announcing new products.

The guy/gal who always suggests an alternate brand in a Benchmade group when a person asks "What Benchmade do I buy?"

Dislike Facebook, twitter, Instagram and even most chat rooms. Too many other distractions to indulge in.

Not that it was forgotten, but recently, there's been a rash of "I got a scratch on my blade so I sent it in for replacement and they want 1/3 of MSRP for a new blade now!" posts.  - Yeah, bud, they're doing that just for folks like you who abuse the system and get cosmetic blade swaps so you can try and sell your used knife for a LNIB price.. or simply because you were plowing through their replacement blade pile for no reason other than because it was too cheap not to do so. *you* ruined that amazing feature for all of us.  Closely related to the free clip guy.

/|\ Carson we cried with you & your family. We’re missing a 1/2 dozen  great long term members. With guys like you coming back & contributing more in the future I hope you help draw some of the others back on a more frequent bases.

billhammer, I know you guys did.  I have the most special, beautiful Benchmade knife as something I can hold in my hand to remind me of the special people here. I'll see what I can do about contributing.
