Benchmade in front pants pocket ?
Hello Benchmade aficionados.
so I like to wear my folder clipped to my front jeans pocket....slid all the way forward. I wear my Ares 1501 this way, and it stays put all day. I wear my 575 this way, and it slides into the middle of the pocket after walking around a little. These knives are the same weight? I’m trying to figure out how I can wear my 575 without it shifting?? Perhaps it is the different pocket clips?

Deep carry clip! Longer lever arms equal less force to create the same displacement!!

Sounds like you understand physics better than I do. So I should probably switch out the deep carry clip for a traditional black oxide clip?

I'm pretty sure that's what Jason saying Raven.
You cold get a pair of jeans with a knife pocket within the regular pocket. I wear Levis and they are set for right handed carry from the factory. Lol
The smaller pocket within the right pocket works great with my 575 Mini Presidio II using the factory deep carry clip. Actually I use that pocket with all my smaller knives.
Hope this helps!

/|\ Fashion Police suggest Carpenter jeans.
That side pocket down right side is narrow so knife doesn’t slide around , easier to access knife when sitting. If bad detent & knife blade partially opens in pocket better cut in side of the thigh then hip area.🙀
Added bonus to carpenter jeans over skinny jeans is “the boys” get to breath.👍🏻

All the way forward? In your front pocket? Male or female? Not trying to be a prick but that doesn't sound comfortable for a male.

This is one of the reasons I don't care for deep carry clips. The don't stay put and they also shift around a bit when gripped.

Jason is a design engineer (correct me is I got the position wrong) with Benchmade so I am sure he is the guy with the right answer.

Thanks for all the replies. Some of my pants have watch/change pockets...I’ll try putting my knife in it. I may very well switch the pocket clip too!

If you want a bit more tension, that can definitely be achieved via swapping for a split arrow or standard three hole clip.
I've noticed the same thing with heavier knives that have deep carry clips (I carry larger knives in the back left pocket), and sometimes I can press the clip a bit more to increase its hold on the fabric, but personally I tend towards the split arrow. The mini deep carry is a bit stouter as well though, if you really like the knife to sit lower in the pocket.

I'd have bet my house you were more of a skinny jeans type of guy..
Ya think you know a person...

Bill is a trend setter, and far too fashion forward to still be riding the skinny jean train. He's moved back to baggy chino's, cut four inches to high, and overly chunky hoodies with sailor caps.

I'm into it. Go Bill!
Meanwhile, over here on the West Coast, I'm trying to kickstart a re-trend of the classic Hammer pants with no shirt and a large glittery belt.

/|\ Baggy white painter’s pants were the style in mid- seventies in college. So styles come & go I haven’t given up the comfort of baggy jeans. I thank the skateboarders for keeping them in “fashion”.
PS Jason we all await your posted pic of you in MC Hammer pants

Does the Benchmade website have a online form where you can order extra pocket clips? I recall doing that once but don’t see anything? I’d like to get a couple of the standard black oxide clips.

True story. In 89 my best friend decided it would be a good idea to dress like MC Hammer on our freshman first day of highschool. Black pants, gold half shirt and mini black jacket with shoulder pads. He didn't make it 30 minutes. Most of the students were from blue collar families so I'd say he stuck out like a soar thumb in the midst of denim and flannels. 😆

Raven your easiest bet is to simply call Benchmade CS and request a couple. I just did last week and anticipate they'll be delivered by next week!

Speaking of front pocket carry. Here's a great hack for those pesky remotes that like to disappear. I'm totally doing this once I get my AARP card.

I would have to get bigger pockets and use them all cause I have way to many remotes! 🤣

/|\ Boinkman, from one who has his AARP card, lots of hanging around the house cloths have no pockets ( PJs , boxers etc) & if they did have pockets you’d probably forget which pocket. The better solution it tying the remotes around your neck. It works great so long you remember to take them off before you shower 🚿

Benchmade is an equal opportunity campus, of course. You know that.
