weak side carry
i have been thinking of this topic lately
most of my folding knives are designed to be used primarily in the right hand. this being dictated by thumb stud location, liner/frame lock and just general design.
well shouldn't weak/left side carry be considered a bit more deeply
it would allow for my trigger finger to be on my trigger while i deploy a blade with my other hand
of another concern is arthritis and "trigger finger" in a couple digits makes my right/dominant hand a weak hand in the future.
so i am now looking for ambidextrous or lefty friendly type knives. the axis autos seem like the platform that fills the bill

/|\ Being a Lefty, I am more conscious of dual studs ( no not Mac & Tim) and the unbiased axis lock. But even Righty’s should prefer ability to open a knife with either hand.

Another lefty
Have you looked at the SOCP fixed blade options? Capable of holding blade and operating a gun, slide or trigger.

What about cross-draw? I have been contemplating a BM Azeria or Kabar TDI with a left side setup.

fixed blades are more welcoming to leftys
i have several that don't care which hand they are in
my issue is with most folders, there aren't that many designed for weak side or leftys
i wonder what quantity bm needs for a run
a side auto could use an off the shelf blade and hardware
the spring would need the leg turned the other way
handles could be mirrored easily on a cnc machine...

Most Benchmades with an Axis lock are the same if carried left or right. There is the rare occasion that the clip is right hand only, but not typically

/|\ Tu love the axis lock for us lefties , but on autos firing buttons are for right-handed fellows.

It sounds like you are specifically looking for a lefty push button auto. However, have you tried the auto versions of the Axis folders? For example, the Auto Presidio comes to mind. They have the same ambi controls as the manual versions except they are auto.

if bm would do an auto axis 535 or 531 i'd be all over it

Have you looked at the new Mediator 8551BK? It's basically an Axis auto 940

8551 looks like a push button
i like the axis and really like axis auto
be nice if offered across axis line-up

Wooops my mistake, should have at least looked at a photo before i posted the link.
I feel I'm also obligated to suggest an 8600 Axis auto. Regardless of the situation an auto Bedlam would be a great option

Have you tried the Mini Presidio II? It has very similar measurements, and feels great in the hand (so much so that I bought it over the 535). It is about 3.5 oz heavier. If budget isn't a consideration, you might try to put the CF scales on (or get custom G10, Micarta, or CF scales) and shave off another ounce (manual CF Mini Pres II is 3.19 oz vs aluminum versions at 4.13 oz).

i am aware of the mini pres
a little too heavy compared to the synthetic handled competition

I often carry two blades. The main blade is right pocket and secondary blade is left. The primary blade is normally a "tactical" styled blade that would be used for those types of purposes, so normally it is never used. The secondary blade is more an EDC/Utility blade. Often I carry a multi-tool type knife. Right now the Leatherman Free T4 sees a lot of use, however a Proper is a good fit.
Often I am pocket carrying a firearm, and then the right pocket is used for that and the left pocket carry is the same as above.
If you are carrying a knife clipped on the off side, it is often better to use tip down carry as you don't need to swap the clip (and you lessen the probability that a tip up blade will open as it is not against the seam).
