Black Bugout Scales
One of you fellow knife nuts is bound to buy a new black Bugout and almost immediately replace the scales with something nice like titanium, G10 or carbon fiber.
I’m a man of simple tastes and would love the opportunity to buy your factory black FRN scales.
Please contact me if you have some to sell in the future. Thanks.

Hey Glocker, Happy New Year!
If you have an existing set of Blue or Tan/Gray scales from a Bugout it's easy to make your own Black Scales like the Bugout 535BK-1902's which many have done with great success.
Simply get yourself some Rit Dye More "Graphite". Use a pot that you won't get in trouble from the wife because you might dye it while completing this project. I use an older small stainless pot. Pour enough Rit Dye More Graphite in the pot to just cover the scales. Add a few tablespoons of Vinegar and "some" table salt. Bring the broth to a low boil and wait for about 5 minutes. While still on the stove use an old fork to check a scale to see if it has reached the depth of color you're looking for. The Graphite colored dye seems to work super fast, at least for me. Once you have the color depth remove the pot from the stove and remove the scales. Rinse them well and use a scotch pad with a little Dawn soap to confirm that the color is set deep enough into your scales. If not boil for a while longer. If they look good dispose of the remaining dye or put it in a disposable soda bottle for future use.
I've done this with a number of different type "plastic" type scale with excellent results.
Hope this helps!
