Magnetized CR blade.
Hi everyone.
I know I have'nt posted in a while but I have been keeping up to date on your posts and enjoying them and besides just wanted to drop in and say Hi.
My full size CR blade in S30V is slightly magnetized, how it got that way I don't have a clue.
My question is, does effect the attributes of the steel in any way?
At this point, since I am not a hard user I really don't know .
Can anyone give me any insight?
It's actually a kind of neat feature, maybe add it to the custom shop.

Increased dust collection? Float in water & use as a compass? Can't really think of any changes to attributes of steel. You can pass it through a multi coiled, energized AC line to remove magnetization, welding cable works great for this.

Steel can get magnetized lots of ways. It really shouldn't make any difference as far as the blade's physical attributes are concerned.

/|\ Archer good to hear from you.
I’m convinced it was you’re magnetic personality rubbed off on you’re CR. 😀
Stay well & hope to hear from you often.

There might some truth in what you're saying Bill,
the down side is I'm developing rust stains.
It's nice to be back, best forum on the net.

Yet, your edge is as sharp as ever, I see.
Nice to hear from you, Archer.
*A lot of things attract me to the Crooked River... I hadn’t considered magnetism...
