I think it goes in before the spring. Can you add a picture? I'll take mine apart of need be!

Your boost should have very similar design as barrage.

Try to see this vid below. Maybe you can find the part as you mentioned "spacer". Since there is no pic.  It is hard to identify.

    Good luck

I think Arsupply is right. But I don't remember if it goes on the outside or inside the liner with the spring sitting inside it. Basically you're looking at the liner assembled, with the cup and the spring sitting inside. I'm taking min apart to be sure.

Wow... you guys (TIM & ARCSUPPLY) amaze me with your quick and helpful replies.  Thank you!

After watching the video and comparing my two Boosts, it looks like it was supposed to be a liner support that slides onto the blade stop pin.  I compared my Micarta Boost with my stock scaled Boost and the stock one's blade is angled up by maybe 3 degrees (and the blade stop is thinner).  I'm pretty sure this is what I missed during reassembly.

Here's a pic of the part next to the Boost with Keyman's scales (post scale swap and spring fix):

    /|\ nice work by Keyman.

Does the knife rattle when you shake it? If not show this to Jason, as BKC always looking to reduce unnecessary parts & procedures in their design & build.

Still an extra piece when your done putting your knife back together is unnerving.😮

I'm not sure why I was thinking of a component of a much larger size. I think you're dead on your assessment of the unused part Scott especially considering the 3° of upward angle you're finding. I would think there may also be some up and down blade play.

I'm sure you'll want to add it back to your Boost which of course that requires another complete teardown and reassembly. We've all been there before. It's that "Dagnabit moment" and then the resolve of breaking out the teardown pad, T6 and T10 drivers and a pint of your favorite libation aka a "learning experience"!

Nice choice on the Keyman scales! They truly set your Boost apart. He does do great work!

Those scales look awesome.  I was always impressed with the look of the boost but never got around to picking one up.  Not a huge fan of the assist mechanism but had they made an upgrade limited edition with better scales and blade steel I would have jumped all over it.

Maybe we'll see one. A nice 20CV blade with something other that Grivory scales...

Something in Carbon Fiber or a Titanium variant?

Update: I replaced the part as described and everything fit exactly as it should.  Thanks again, all, for your help.

Although I understand that reducing parts and build procedure reduces costs, I think that the Boost's configuration really eases the scale swap procedure for us knife nuts.

Speaking of rattling... The safety rattles (on both)... plus I think Keyman was nice enough to swap a silver pocketclip for my black one and since it doesn't quite touch the scales, it also 'ticks' when I grab or handle the knife.

Considering my orthodics squeak when I walk, a little 'tink' here or there doesn't bother me.  It's OK... it's like "the footsteps of a Navy SEAL"... if they were walking on squeaky toys while winding a grandfather clock.

/|\ Scott, glad you found the place for the “extra” part.

You can bend the clip to tighten it (I like removing it to do so & Boinkman has a 2nd method- both work) 😀👍🏻

Haha that piece is what I call the "stop pin bushing" and it helps hold spacing at the pivot, which makes for smoother action and easier adjustment.
