Custom Shop Updates
So the custom shop now has Damasteel and carbon fiber available. All they need to do now is bring back the 710 and I will happily fork over every cent I have.

I'll second that!

What I want, what I really really want are 940 & 941 with uncoated M390 blades. I’ve not been impressed with the USA “equivalent “.

Oh? I have find 20cv vs M390 to be very difficult to differentiate given in same geometry.
You didn't like 1802 of DLC?1 -
/|\ MFL, nice to see you posting.
As to DLC blades they look great, but both on the 940-1802 & Forum 810 I find the opening & closing just doesn’t feel as smooth as non-coated blade ( like 810-1401).
I like to have a mix of coated & non-coated blades ( difference horses different courses). In fact only Benchmade’s purchased this year have been the blacked out Bugout. ( still like blue handle better it’s looks are deceiving)
As to the 940-1802, I don’t like the rounded handle. Maybe because I absolutely love the contours of the original 940 & it’s sisters, The original is so easy to orientate in hand with middle hump & the scrimshaw v design near the pivot. By comparison the 940-1802 has no contours to let you easily know where the knife is in hand.
My to do list is to get DOAT to make a replacement handle in the traditional shape. That would make it all in a $450 Knife. 🙁
Wish SMKW would have just gone with the 940-1 handle.
If BKC adds the 940 to Custom Shop, I want a few with FRN handles with great steel & ultra light.

I see what you mean. Also I prefer my work blade to be non coated. Only coated blades are that of 1080, or tool steels (D2, M2, M4, 3V.)I love DOAT's work, but I am extending forward to ask him as he seems to have many back logs in orders. He told me it was a month wait. Speaking of which, I should as him to cut weight reduction holes to my Rift liners as you have done.

/|\ IMHO lighting holes a must on 950’s as improves balance point.
Surprised Loonybin hasn’t drilled his 950’s.
Note black 950 with back pinky grip removed. Bough it on eBay thought I’d like it better, somewhere between 940 & 950 ( 949?)

MFL,
got to say if you think a month is a long wait time, you may want to think twice before ordering a custom knife🤩

Yeah, yeah. I'm impatient regarding blades.

Wow. That's different. I like it.
