    So...

Dealers advertising this knife as the “437GY” are incorrect?  Also, why is the SKU not “437BK” having gray cerakote and all...?

That is correct. The product should be listed as the 537GY or 537SGY.

The "family" encompasses both SKUs or model configurations for the product and the family name is typically what is used in our product announcements.

    Thanks.

Oh, and I meant “537”, of course.

I didn’t even notice that the SKU’s are listed as “GY” in the NPA until you just posted it.  I guess I was mostly confused by not seeing “BK” anywhere.

GY is just our grey version of cerakote. Similar to BK being black.

Nice! Glad to see more 3V. Any plans for other “members” of this family?

Is this knife in the Bug Out family or is it just similar?

The Bail Out is larger than a Bug Out, right?

Any Chance you could post a pic of the Bail Out and Bug Out next to each other?

Hey Conrad...not too familiar with the "Bailout",with it being brand new still, main stand out in my initial thoughts would be the excellent choice of blade steel and if you are partial to a tanto style blade shape which i myself don't mind at all it may be a decent one to check out,i'd wait til you can actually hold one in your local knife shop/store to get a true feel of it before buying one....Nice steel choice though and i think its very light with almost identical weight as the bugout...If you do happen to get one let me know what you think...Take care man...R

/|\  Most likely Jason designed it too.

I did design this one, too.

It is a little bit longer than a 535, so you are correct.

While all of the major online retailers I've been watching still show the 537 Bailout as pre-order, I just noticed a FP 537 on the bay. Looks like they're being released into the wild... Slowly?

First impressions of the 537 Bailout..

    1. I noticed with the one I received that the blade was a bit off center. I will usually see how much "flex" is in a given knife of this type when it comes to liners and scales. In flexing the scales to see what if any difference I could make with centering, I heard a distinct "pop" sound which I can duplicate in both directions. This also pitches the off centering to the opposite side. I checked the scale screws and liner screws and all are tight. I'll have to disassemble the 537 to completely diagnose what is making the noise. I'll guess and say the fit between the liners and the scales, or possibly the fit between the liners and the pommel. UPDATE... It ended up being the scale screw under the clip. I slightly tightened it and no more popping!

    2. The knife's overall weight is ultralight just like the 535 Bugout. The knife feels great in hand and flips smooth as silk using only the Axis lock.

    3. The Ceracote on the blade has a very cool almost metallic look to it. The best description would be a metallic powder coat.

    4. The 3V blade has absolutely no play, has perfect lock up and came surgical sharp. I let one of my more "knife dangerous" friends play with it for a bit. He usually ends up cutting himself when playing with my knives and this time was no different as he ended up with a nice little paperlike cut on his forefinger.

    5. The all black hardware goes really well with the rest of the knife. Fit and finish are on par with all other BMKs of this era.

All in all I like the 537 more now that its in hand then when I first saw it announced here. I'll be putting it into my EDC rotation and figure I'll like it more so over time.  While I usually don't use a paracord pull on my knifes I may with the 537 as I'm really liking the idea of the pommel.
