I recall one comment a few days after the forum change but that's it.  Pandas like to hibernate when the cold weather kicks in and by hibernate I mean go on vacation.

Gee, maybe pandas hate the new format. And if it weren’t for my love of Benchmades and for the relationships I’ve developed w/some of you, I would’ve been LONG GONE after the change.

Agreed.  This new format is a POS.  Seems like the wealth of knowledge is dwindling.

I spoke with Po. He’s fine, just busy and taking a break.

Oh he is "taking a break..." Did he say "It is not you guys, it is me... I need some space to find myself..." All the while he lighting up the Spyderco forum.

I am used to the new format now, It is fine.

I do like I don't need to host pictures on another site.

Guys, I’m painfully aware of the unrest & misery caused by changes of soft ware operating systems or poorly developed upgrade.

I’ll agree that the new software is a little cranky in terms of adding images etc but imho,  it works ok in a mobile environment. The old software format  was getting old, & was more suited to a desk top environment. Again, an opinion. I’m a user rather than software code geek.

I have run a knife & shooting forum in Europe. It started with a reasonably stable platform from Woltlabs in 2015 that worked well in desk top & mobile phone. You could successfully Moderate & Admin from the mobile environment with little to no loss of screen, key function or drop down menus. Success. Members & Mods all happy

But our IT chimp ( co-owner) couldn’t leave it alone. KISS was a concept completely lost on him. The idiot added unnecessary sub-forums & plug-ins that made a good thing gradually more cumbersome....then came “the software upgrade of fail” Newer, shinier etc etc.

My first question to him : Will it still work as before in a mobile environment & with adequate down scaling to use on a mobile & Moderate ? Answer : Yes

Will it keep the look of the previous software & corporate familiarity? Answer : Yes, he would skin it to make it look as before.

We agree to software upgrade as long as it’s BETA tested by us & key members prior to release.

IT chimp pushes for release 4 weeks after meeting & says we must test it.... but we agreed to full testing & member test ffs.

    The big night of release.

IT chimp get two other IT Chimp friends to sit at desk top IMACS implementing the upgrade all night. I get in after working all night to find an unrecognisable software upgrade I can’t see anything on properly with 70% functionality lost in the mobile scaling & no hope of moderation.  I get berated for complaining that it’s a pile of crap, until I ask them if any of them had tested the new software on a phone of any kind ? Lol....not !

This rush to implement a poorly developed & tested software package despite the prerequisite of mobile function & use would doubtless have been avoided with time spent testing the package over a full test period as we’d never agreed the implementation.

We lost half the posting members. I couldn’t mobile mod the site & the IT chimp turned round & told us that we should all be moderating the site from desk top machines & that we should all go out & purchase them if we did not have them...🙄 This on top of the 1500 hrs we already worked for free 😂Only a full function retard with ADHD, Aspergers & a large splash of Narcissism would say something so insane publicly.

Unsurprisingly, that Forum is nearly dead with myself & most of the contributors & knife makers long gone...so I do get how important ease of use & functionality is for the user..👍
