In what way is this lock stronger then the Adamas or Loco lock?

I an curious about this also, is there standardized testing? Hopefully more than just downward pressure, with knife open, until failure.

Yes there is standardized testing.  Check out the Test Lab sub-forum or some of our YouTube videos.

For the 980 specifically, it's not the STRONGEST, but it is up there.  And it depends on the test.  It has a higher strength when loaded against the stop pin than the 275, but not against the lock itself.  There isn't one knife that's the strongest in all orientations.

The 15080 is incredibly strong as well, actually.  Fun fact.

Great info! Got hands on with this one and I really like the slimmer handles. Easier when wearing gloves to hang on to! Thanks Jason for the updates!

I do believe this one will make my short list.  It'll probably be my next purchase!

    Turret
    Turret 1
So I picked up both and I have to say that even though I am a serration fan, I really like the plain satin blade! Putting it to work this week!

After a week of carrying this everyday all day, and using it pretty hard at work, I can honestly say I have new favorite heavy duty folder.  I didn't think it would knock the Vallation out of my pocket, but it has for sure!  I still won't be getting rid of the Adamas, that one is in a class by itself, but it's awfully big in the pocket and it has become my backpack knife in case I loose, break, need a loaner, or just find myself without my fixed blade in the field.  I don't think the Turret is as stout, but it carries so much nicer, and is more than enough for my toughest tasks.  So far it's hacked through a couple of tree branches, cut drywall and skinned a bunch of wire, opened and cut up a ton of cardboard.  Easy to use, easy to deploy, easy to carry for a larger folder, and pretty doggone stout.  I can tell already, after just one week, this one is my new main work EDC. I dig it!  Great Job Benchmade!

I might be missing something here, but what is the point of the jimping beyond the thumb ramp. Is it just for show? Seems like bad design. Other than that I like the look of this knife
