Announcing the NEW 365 Outlast!

Is the O2 wrench accessible with the blade closed? I can't really tell from these pictures, and I really hope I don't have to open the blade to use the O2 wrench.

It was designed to be used open, but I think you can still get to it well enough while it's closed? I don't recall trying it that way, so I can't say for sure.

Hmmm, ok, I'm not crazy about having to open the blade to use the wrench.

I gotcha. It actually might work totally fine, I just haven't tried, so I can't say for sure.

Thanks! I'm still glad you guys thought to include an O2 wrench, it's something that will definitely get more use than the blades or glassbreaker in my experience. It's also something that tends to have "legs" and gets lost easily. Definitely something that should be included on any rescue knife worth its salt.

Just came back from a quick demo with a local fire dept, and the O2 wrench is still accessible in a closed position. They did have to grip the knife in a way that pinched the blade shut with the palm of their hand, otherwise the blade wanted to open once they started twisting the tank open.

No plans to extend the line quite yet.

have a question or two about the operation of this one. is there a mechanism that keeps both blades from deploying at the same time? also, when you pull back on the axis bar to close the blade is it possible for the other one to come out? am assuming that pulling back the axis bar and wrist flicking one of the blades out isn’t doable.

I got a chance to play with this one at our local sportsmans show. If i remember correctly the blades act independently. The S30v blade can be opened with thumb stud or axis flip. The S3v blade has a thumb slot. I can't remember if it locks open. Planning on heading to the factory store tomorrow, will look again.
I do like this knife. They did an amazing job on it, as usual. Not cluncky like i had imagined & feels very natural in hand.

They each use the same Axis lock. Pretty cool!

I didn't think they both flipped out at the same time, must have been distracted by something shinny at the show. I'll have to look at this again. Sounds like a great reason to hit the shop again, thanks boink!

There's a secondary detent system that retains the closed blade while the AXIS lock is engaged. Either can be opened at any time, but we expressly state you should only use one at a time for safety's sake. I don't know why you'd need/want both open anyways, so that shouldn't be an issue.

yeah, i was more wondering about how easy it would be to accidentally flip out the second blade while closing the first one. figured there had to be something to hinder if not outright lock out the second blade from opening at the same time. thank you for the confirmation Jason. this is definitely one that i’m interested in. now if only one of the local b & ms would stock it so i could get a chance to play with it
