New 710 plain edge blade needed!!
Hey guys...I have a 710d2 with the plain edge satin finish blade that has very unfortunately broke on me and i'm not sure if i was doing something wrong by using it outside in our recent extreme cold snap up here in Alberta,Canada....I was cutting some packing wrap and plastic/nylon straps on pallets of de-icing road salt when the blade broke about halfway down the length!! Not sure if the extreme cold caused this or some kind of odd flaw in the metallurgy or heat treat....but have more than a dozen other Benchmades and have never had any major problems with any of them...Anyways i realize this knife has been d'continued for a couple years and have checked/called Benchmade customer service a couple times in the last year or so to see if i can get the blade replaced with a new plain edge 710 blade in either D2 which this one is or the old 154cm if they were able to find a new one laying around the shop somewhere....Heck i love this knife very much so am willing to pay for a new blade for it if it would not be covered under warranty....i would gladly indeed accept a plain edge one in any steel they have been made in...Would appreciate any help/solutions guys...Benchmade Knives rock and i am hoping/praying 🙏🙏!! someone here in the forum or in the warranty/blade replacement area can help me with this so i can once again put this 710 back in my pocket for my daily use blade....Thankyou guys.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm thinking about all you can do is keep an eye out on the second hand market for a decent 710. Maybe post here in the "Wanting to buy" section. It's really a bummer when one of your favorite EDCs breaks! Good luck!

I am keeping faith in Benchmade that someone at the factory in the warranty department reads this and can help me with this issue to a happy satisfactory end as i do not want a different knife(this one has much sentimental value)....If a sudden unexpected blade snap in the Uber Canadian cold is somehow not covered under Benchmade warranty i am more than ready to pay to have a new blade in plain edge configuration of any steel installed so please reaffirm my faith in Benchmade to come through for me with a satisfactory resolution....Thankyou!

Have you tried calling? That would be my first course of action and is more likely to yield results.

Just in case you don't have the BMK Customer Service phone number handy... 1-800-800-7427.
Good Luck!

BKC recently told me they no longer have 710 replacement blades in stock. And yes, I called them.
