What materials do you cut the most?
I'm sure you've all noticed that I choose to cut nylon straps, 550 paracord and 7-8 oz veg tanned leather when doing my test videos. I've found that these materials tend to showcase if a blade is performing well or if it can't get the job done.
I would love to hear what you tend to cut the most. Rope, plastic, paper, elk, wire, etc, etc. Whatever it happens to be, share it here and Tracy and I will incorporate it into our tests.

Folders : Cardboard boxes, tape, plastic product packaging, food items, etc etc.
Fixed blades, processing deer.0 -
Zip ties, nylon webbing on ratchet straps, cardboard, plastic, used my 530 to cut 1/8th inch woven wire, though that's not a frequent use, and yeah, it performed swimmingly! 0 -
Work knives: Wire casing, zip ties, cardboard,scraping/parting glue or epoxy from wood or piping

I'd love to see that! Make it a Nimravus and a Bushcrafter for that one. Include the video of y'all hunting it and field dressing it.
My pocket knives will cut anything from envelopes, tape, zip ties, pencils (sharpening), fingernails (don't show us that, please), small tree branches, plastic, whatever needs to be cut when I'm around.
My fixed blades are more planned use: deer, thick branches, someday hogs and elk. I tend to use my hunting knife to not only field dress deer, but also to de-bone and process it.0 -
I use em for whatever comes along, used D2 blade to cut baling wire for compactor, split wood with my 732, used my 720 to punch through an oil filter to remove it because my friend didn't have the right wrench, stripping and cutting wire, lopping branches off of trees, breaking down cardboard displays, cutting tape, envelopes... After I learned to sharpen and shape my blades, pretty much everything goes... Except using em as screwdrivers very often... Some of this could be very bad if it actually broke the knives. My brother was/is a construction electrician and until they banned knives... He used the crap out of The 940 I gussied up. Other brother used the 950 I have him to skin out a caribou, it's his favorite hunting knife... His Kershaw leeks on the other hand, beats em like step children. Youngest brother lost the Grip, so gave him a Gerber/Emereson auto, also used on everything.
Dunno if I can find my old pics of my 722, made me love Benchmade knives, built like a tank, perfect fit and finish the likes of which are rare.
I'd like to see CATRA results for at least 154cm/ats-34 as a base and then see how much better the super steels fare.0 -
Zip ties are the worst thing I cut on a daily basis that makes me cringe. A lot of zip tie cuts for me are with the tip as the zip tie is tight and there is no room to slide the full blade in.
Also cardboard, tape, stripping wire insulation, mail. For me I work with electronics, so my wire stripping is on very small wires. I need a razor edge and very precise control - otherwise I would cut straight through a wire with copper stands finer than human hair. This with the same knife previously used on tie straps.
Most mornings my breakfast is in a foil bags, pop tarts or Cliff bars. These bags are like phone book paper, a razor sharp edge goes through like butter, any thing less and you can feel a snag.0 -
I love to go in some steak house there with all them dull knives,call a server with a couple new knives and after all show him how a sharp knife works,btw meat is good.
