How is the breaker attached?

Hey guys! I'm considering ferric chloride etching the liners and backspacer on my Contego. The shiny steel bugs me. Anyway I've researched and found that the etchant won't hurt the carbide breaker,but I'm concerned with how it is inlaid into the backspacer. If it's cemented in that may pose a problem.

Anyone know?
