I like my 162 also , the sheath is my favorite of my fixed blades! Knife is very well balanced!

I still prefer the 201. I handled one and was 90% ready to purchase it, and the fact that it had no jimping turned me off.. When you're hunting/skinning, u want that extra grip.. I have way too many fixed blades anyway, enough for life.. Sometimes all you need (even when hunting) is a good quality folder.. Just my 2 cents

That thick slab of S30V is nice though!

My thoughts exactly when I first handled the 162, no jimping! Although with it being so thick and flat I have gotten used to it! Plus the price was right for that much s30V , G10 , and leather! My 147bk feels better in my hand though but I prefer bushcrafter when camping with the kids!

Good point, it still makes for a great outdoor knife, might end up getting one, love that ultra thick S30V.. I will prob cut the D-ring off though, I have no real use for it

I hang the knife up by the D-ring sometimes. So try it in the field some before you cut it off , you may find another use for it too! P.M. , I think you will like it !

I did not think of it that way and I have now found a place to hang it by the D ring when it's not on my belt.

I too like the balance of the knife.

I wanted jimping and a blood groove but I wasn't going to let that be a deal breaker.I'll find another knife to scratch that itch.

I agree and the more I use it the more I like it.

You really cannot beat the value of a Seifert designed high-end Benchmade fixed blade knife. Quality doesn't get any higher in a user-grade knife, and the price doesn't get any better.

So true. The 162 is a lot of knife for the money. I know I will be buying or trading for one or two more.
