BP1 Coating Question
From the Website:
BP1 COATING: Black Pearl (BP) is a PVD (physical vapor deposition) coating made up of Titanium Carbo-Nitride (TiCN for short). It is a darker, near black, scratch resistant coating with nice decorative qualities.
My Question: Why does BM use BP1 (TiCN) Coating for some Gold Class models and not blue/black class? Is it a better coating?
It seems to be *very* scratch resistant which I really like, and the color is pretty nice too, just curious if its a higher end coating and why more hardware, blades, or clips aren't coated in it? Nobody can really answer my question
Thanks!

Interesting. I know that TiCN is a super hard coating and is fairly new to the cutlery industry. It is harder and lasts longer than TiN, which is a good coating in my experience. It would be cool to see it on other knives as well. 0
