I feel ya, general knife laws in the U.S. are a joke, believe me, even when we stop people and they are carrying/concealing knives.. unless they are banging, we will not hassle them.. As long as your not waving it around in public (being a moron), you will be fine.. trust me.
For flights, I probably wouldn't bother carrying one on planes even now.. Not worth the risk of it "still" being taken by the illogical TSA..0 -

Just a recommendation...if that happens to you and you can't miss your flight, ask for your knife back, open the blade and bust it off on the floor, then toss it in the trash. If you just toss the knife in the trash, it will probably end up in the TSA guy's collection.0 -
