New play thing
Ever since I fell in love with my bone linen 710.
I've been looking for a 710 in M4 or M2, my preferred steel.
Today, thanks to dj and a little birdie
, it arrived. I opened and closed it maybe 6 times before I decided to play.
Before:
After I switched out the scales and shortened the back spacer.
Man I like those holes.

Wow, Keyman, that mod didn't seem to take you long! It looks great with the holes! That's probably my favorite knife the M4 710. If I recall correctly, DJ helped me get two of mine.
Now it's your duty to get out there and scratch up that M4 blade so it doesn't look like a chick's knife.

I'm thinking this would look good in Twill.
Now the question is, Blue or Silver?
Hmmm?
Blue would be pretty cool.
But, Silver would be really classy.
Hmmm??0 -
If you're looking for new projects, have you tried drilling out an 806? 0 -
I don't have one.

You might think about getting an 806. imo they make a pretty nice stable-mate to a 710. The 806 has a 5.5" handle where the 710's is 5". They're both comfortable to carry too.

Try it in blue... The new LE 710 from KW will be in silver so we'll eventually get to see the silver.0 -

That is true.
But, not with holes in it!
Maybe one of each...Silver & Blue.
I think Blue would be better for a user.0 -

Keyman, I take it that you are about to try some silver twill...right? What is silver twill? Is it a G-10 based product?
As you are working with it, please let us know if the fibers seem to snag or fray....and what happens to the material when it is sanded.0 -
Yup it's G10.
and yes I will do that.

That looks great but I have to admit my jaw hit the ground when I saw it. Wowza!
I admire your ability too take an LE and totally totally alter it forever.
I'm glad you got what you were after.
You are a knife artist!0 -

It looks like it would but it doesnt. It works just like good carbon fiber.0 -
Keyman,
I see that you like the drilled out look and noticed on my 810 that the liners are already drilled out. Do you think there would be any drawbacks to drilling out some custom scales for the 810?0 -
I don't own a 810; but I doubt there would be any real issues. 0
