Passaround?
Anyone interested in doing a passaround with the new flipper? I think most of us are pretty curious about Benchmades first ever flipper, and what better way to try it out without actually buying it!
Here are my thoughts...
Ten people max. Each person will Paypal me (or anyone else who wants to be the "leader") 1/10 of the knifes total cost. Each person will have about a week to fondle, flip, and try out the knife. The knife will be shipped to the next person on the list (either don't by geographic location or when you signed up) and so on. Once everyone has had a turn with the knife we can have a member not involved in the passaround pick a name out of a hat out of the people who participated. You have a 1 in 10 chance of winning the knife! We did this before with a 930 and Joe the lucky winner!
Of course we would have to set some ground rules. Those can all be ironed out when/if the passaround actually happens, but I'm thinking you need to be a member in good standing with a minimum of say 50 posts?
Anyone interested?

I'm cool with it Pascal. Are there any legal concerns we need to keep in mind when shipping to France?0 -

There are always legal concerns when shipping Internationally, however the biggest one is with Automatics and this is NOT one of them.
Pascal knows his countries knife laws very well and I am sure he knows if he is OK...

I'm sure it will be fine. If anything we can just make sure the person before him just tightens down the pivot. I'm glad Pascal is involved, I just wanted to make sure there won't be problems with customs. 0 -
Oh Ya by the way, I think this is a great idea so I would be in....

Mitchell,
I would guess that the biggest issue with customs and International is going to be the shipping costs and time, with possible delays as it goes in and out of customs...
I love the idea of Pascal being involved, just think of the photos we would get of it (sorry Pascal your pictures are so dam good)….
Perhaps Pascal should be the last one to get it and that way he gets to keep it in the end (if he wants too), so he doesn’t have double shipping and customs waiting..

I agree with the points you've made. I guess we can iron everything out once we get the 10 involved. Just one thing though...in order to keep the knife he'd have to win it . Everyone involved will have a 10% chance!

Four more people spaces. 0 -
This is an awesome idea I think we should do with more to come, though I'm not interested in this particular one,(already had my fondle and just not my cup-I-tea) I would be in on many more to come! 0 -

Well Mitchell,
According to my count so fare you now have 11 people that would be involved and that includes yourself my friend...
I would also imagine that if we all liked it than perhaps we could get a better price for 10 or deal rather than us buying individually..
So the obvious question is what do we do next to set this up and what are the rules...

I've for ten people (Jondaz is interested in future, but not this particular knife). I'm going to send a PM to everyone involved. If anyone has a tip on where I could buy a plain edge, please let me know! 0 -
Mitchell,
I am sure that I could find one and start the ball rolling, when you give me the green light..

Fellas....I picked up one of these from KW a few days ago and have been 'flipping' it since, but don't see myself using it much in my EDC rotation. If you guys would like I'd sell you mine for my costs and be tickled to know that you are each 'testing' one out that I got a chance to play with. Its cut nothing.
Let me know if you'd be interested.0 -
I'm out by the time this thing gets going I will be traveling and no one wants the knife sitting in my mail box for a month or two. I should have thought this throug before I said yes. Big Old Boy, Bob. thanks guys. 0 -

Thanks for the offer. Can you PM me what is the total cost shipped?0 -

I hope I'm not throwing a wrench in these plans, but a few years ago, Roger donated a 890 and a 585 for a passaround. As many people as wanted were allowed to try it for a week, and then it was given away in a drawing.
Maybe he'd do the same thing again?0 -
Perhaps we should check with Roger about passarounds in the future with new models like this. Really there wouldn't be much better advertising for him. 0 -
This is awesome you guys are doing this. I wish I had seen this before I bought mine, not that I wouldn't have bought mine I just think this is super cool.
I'll catch it on the next big release.0 -
I like this idea too - I would be willing to participate in the future unless your taking on more for this one.
