Benchmade 42s General Questions

I have some general questions about the 42s.

- When did Benchamde first make the 42s?
- Did early 42s models use 440c steel? I've noticed that newer ones were made with 154, but have heard that early 42s were made with 440c

  Yes the 41s was available in production models in 440c, 154cm and Sandvik steels.

  Early 42's were made with Sandvik steel. I've had uber early t-latch models with Sandvik blades that didn't even bare the "42" mark on the blade. Note, the finish on those old early ones is far better than the later versions.
