586 M390
This is the first I've heard of this.

Is this new or am I behind the times? Looks like it's going to be a regular production model.

Ha! I just started a thread in the a/o -auto section.
I believe GP's pre-order is the first we are hearing about it.
I'm looking forward to it.0 -
WOW!
I have been wanting a smaller m390. May have to get one of these. The full barrage is a little too large for me to really get any use out of as an EDC (I would carry a grip when I need something large).0 -
wow! they even used the model number we wanted

Maybe they just shortened it. 1000000000000000000586 0 -
Am I correct that this one is not a LE?
So the only point of the pre-order to get in line first?0 -
That was my thinking. There's no -130X after it, seems to be the same materials as the larger one. Looks like production model to me. I'd preorder one, but I like to wait out the first production marked knives. 0 -
Yeah, it looks like a regular production model to me... I'm going to wait awhile to order one. 0 -

I can see I'll have a 585 and some other things going up for sale... This is perfect! 0 -
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am very happy to see this. I will be on this like flies on $hit.
Thank you for posting the info.

I might be in for one of these. Although I still don't own a 581. 0 -
They're also here:

I would think the Al bolsters hurt sales on the 581. I sure wish they just went full G10 on these. 0 -
Well, whaddya know...'bout time. Got that bad boy on pre-order.
The blade appears to have less belly than the 585, which is an interesting difference. I like it. This will be a VERY sweet EDC.0 -
My wife text me about it. Her messages are on the left side.

You have a rare breed
My girl thinks I'm crazy0 -
I just preordered mine. I love my 581 and EDC it nights and weekends, but its a bit too large to EDC at work (office job). My 585BK is my current work EDC, but it will be demoted to camping utility tasks when my 586 arrives. 0 -
Haha she wasn't always that way it took some time for her to warm up to it haha

More interesting barrage developments.
581-131 as I hear it, the unlikely source of this info... my girlfriend.0 -

I saw this 581-131 posted today on Benchmade's site. This is a very nice looking Gold Class. It also happens to be of my favorite BM model. The price seems a bit high to me. I was thinking this should be in the $500 range like some of the other Ti GC knives. anyone care to comment?
Thanks,
JD0 -

$950.00!What makes it that expensive lol
Outrageously over priced! At least make it $500 or $600
950 for some CF and G10, I'll pass0 -

But the 940-81 was listed as $600 retail on BM's site (and I know my dealer would have given me 25% off) but still - 940 had a cooler G10 design and nicer blade in my opinion..
I'm sure many would agree that 950 for that is outrageous0 -
940-81 retail (when first out) listed as $600
586 retail $950 -
+ everyone knows that Gold Class blades go up in value if kept NIB0 -

I'm glad i'm not the only one. I'm still trying to figure it out myself. I could see if it had some kind of special handle inlay like Abalone or something. I'm stumped.

I also agree but at least 586 got a Damascus blade, new GC Shoki just with abalone inlay
for 650 retail is a way to much IMHO.0 -

Also agree, prices are too crazy for the materials used0
