Benchmade "flippers"
I've really been considering picking up a 300 or 300-1 Axis/Flipper but absolutely hate the colored scales, the G10 is nice but I prefer black and that's the main thing stopping me from picking one up. It looks very similar to a 551 Grip, which is what I carry most (usually just at work so I don't mess up my nice blades!). So, IF Benchmade happened to make a 551 or its variations with a flipper added, would you buy one? I think the rest of my collection would be retired if I had a 551 flipper with black G10 and s30v steel...

I would have to see one first.
Have you checked out the LE Cabelas 300? It is mostly black...0 -
I don't really see the need for a flipper with a well tuned axis lock and especially with substantial blade mass.
If I were going to add a flipper it would be on some of the lighter weight blades like the 530.0 -
I disagree with Taxes. I would put a flipper on a 275. Having tried the 300 a couple different times it just doesn't flip like it ought to. I think a heavier blade would make it get up more momentum from the initial push and make it fly out quicker. but really I don't know anything so it's all a guess... and that I think a 275 would be nice with a flipper.
on the original topic, I agree with Mark. I would have to see a griptiian with a flipper before I would say yeah I'd buy it.
a 761 with the clip on the right end and a flipper, that I would buy.0 -

I see your point.0 -
After seeing all the ZT flippers ......I think any flipper regardless of size needs the ball bearing washers and it would be ok.
I like the idea of the 761 have a flipper too , however I like it also the way it is ....... call me crazy , I dont care.0 -
The 761 is sweet. 0 -
I think the only thing missing that is needed for BM to make an awesome flipper is a independent detent.
If they produced a fipper with an axis lock and a independent detent....I would be all over it!0 -
As much as I'd love to see a new griptilian variant, I don't think this should be it.
In my experience, the Axis lock doesn't provide enough of a dentent for a proper flipper. Additionally, I like the action of the axis lock the way it is...0
